This tee was designed with flexibility and ease of production in mind. In addition to a high-falutin'-six-color version, there is a single and three color offering. I’ve also given the client a myriad of base color options.

Each character is a single color and a single color for highlights. That would have broken the internal logic of the shirt.

I like any version on black or white the most. Clients are big on bright stuff these days, so I tend to show it on some more out there colors too.

you rock our socks off. and i think it’s very pro that you made time to present a shitload of options to the client. the downside would be confusing them...i would not know what to choose, for sure, too much goodness:)

I normally would be a bit more selective, but this is an instance where I am designing for a designer. He’ll know what is best for his brand which takes that burden off of me this time around.

indeed, working with such a customer has both advantages and disadvantages... it’s great to learn from more experienced freelancers stuff like that. thanks for sharing, i really appreciate it.

Usually, I would say it is absolutely the job of the illustrator or designer to get to know the brand as well as they can and offer the appropriate solution. This was a unique situation. Great dude to work with too.

Hmm. Hard to say. I got approval on it a few months back but had to delay the inks and colors because of a music video animation gig.

I lost track, honestly. No more than a few hours for pencils, a few hours for inks, a few hours for colors. Worst case, 9-10 hours?

This is probably my fave piece of yours. Great colours in pretty much all the versions but particularly the 1 & 6 colour opts. My only, minor, crit would be that the type & splat look a little under-worked in comparison to the rest of the illustration...but again, thats a minor concern.
