Tried to emulate some old school tattoo styles like Sailor Jerry, but with American History elements for a July 4th Shirt without being vomitously patriotic. Might be available soon for...

Hrm... $10.

1. Eagle. Duuuuuurrrr.
2. Liberty Bell
3. Hand signing the Declaration of Independence. How you like that... Lightning coming down through in the mighty pen!!!?!?
4. Santa Maria Ship. Although several hundred years in the past, and somewhat irrelevant to Independence Day, one could pull the explanation out their ass if necessary.
5. 13 Stars representing the 13 Colonies when DoI was signed.

**** Not this design, but NEW shirt available through Uneetee for $12

I hope not. If there is a day like that... call me out for not doing good work. Negative feedback really makes me push harder.

Thx for the comments. Ill let you guys know if this becomes available for $10. Ive been rejected before for quality designs, but this one was requested so... fingers crossed.

I don’t I have the right to call you out on anything my friend! Youve got me beat in knowledge and talent.

I think you’ll settle well with this, especially if it was specifically asked for. How often do your designs get rejected?

It doesnt take schooling to have an eye that can tell btwn good and something being off. So srsly, all opinions on my art regardless of what you think of your knowledge and talent are valid.

As far as being rejected, I would say, depending on the client, it can be normal to have a design rejected. It’s all what the gatekeeper wants and thinks. So I would say rejection is something one has to get used to, especially during the first interactions with a client. Once designs sell, they get increasing more confident in your ability to create a sellable design and intervene less. Fact is, most of the time, the art doesnt even matter. If they have the market, they could sell a piece of crap.

I am here to learn more than anything.
So I am more inclined to listen than speak(believe it or not)

That has been the most difficult aspect for me to handle. It gets me so incredibly frustrated when a client has no artistic inclination and wants something that I know will be a piece of shit--even when I put time into it!

At what point do you bite your tongue or speak your mind?

Provided theyve given you good enough information to create a product, there shouldnt be many times you have to speak your mind.

Alot of the times, client have an idea in their head, but just forget to tell you things that are important. So most revisions by good clients arent just nitpicking, it’s just that both have not communicated well enough. And some issues dont arise until you do something wrong. That’s why I inundate a client with many questions. Most dont answer, but some do. Its better to communicate more than not at all. Then one side will start thinking things and get pissed off.

If I feel that my work has been sufficient, and they have rebuttled too many times, then I will say it call it out. Some people are too hard to please.

I worked for a person who was on TV, and they made me revise something so many times. If they would have gone with my original suggestions, and gave me much more input Im pretty sure I could have given them the product they wanted. Instead with unending revisions, I eventually ended up dropping the client. My expertise isnt to be just thrown around at the whim of someone who just wants to tell people what to do. Indecision and Authoritarian seem to run in the same boat, which are both an ugly trait.

In the end, its your choice to take and give up client work. Fortunately Ive saved my money and have no financial burdens which frees me from being clingy to any project. Also allows me to be a prima donna. ;j

It’s all Photoshop. Painter is rad, but I havent been able to get used to the user interface, and Ive had it for 5 years. Never use it... unless Im doing something painterly, like a portrait.

Hate Illy. Only use it if contest site requires.

I ask the client a ton of questions regarding colors,themes,location/size,any specific font they may want, and a bunch more that help me visualize a niche which they are in.

I believe half of the reason I had frustration was I was totally undercharging for my work. The bands didnt have much at stake, so they would just flop or do exactly what you said.

Thanks for the words dude! Its definitely fruitful.
