The "x" in the design is made up of 50,000 individual tally marks. Each one representing a life lost and another life that chose to give to the cause. Each tee will be individually numbered.

Damn, that is really great. Numbering them out of 50,000 is a good idea, too. You might want to get in touch with Red Cross about it? They’re big, and could potentially help you with all of your goals on this.

some crit..i think having it wrap around the front and back could be cool. sleeve details can also be nice. where are the numbers going for the numbered ones.

we’ll be printing the "x" as big as possible on the front of the shirt (wrapping around the sides and onto the sleeves would definitely be cool).
I’ll post our current idea for the back soon. Numbers will be done on the same angle as the text on the front, and going on the back left shoulder (at least that the current idea).
Crazy how far the project has come in two days. And I certainly appreciate all the help from the Emptee-er to spread the word.

based on the size and scope of the project, we’re simply giving the numbers as the people sign up - we’re not going to be able to allow people to choose their number.
can you give me the names of the people that will be associated with each shirt? See above for answer to your second questions. And yes, I’ll make a post on here as soon as the site is live. Emptees will be the first to know!

Just saw this on the news this morning so i thought I would ask, the death toll is now up to 51,100 and still climbing. are you planning on adding more marks or are you using 50,000 as a symbolic number? Either way it’s still a great idea and cause, I was just curious.
