Made this for Ezra of All Souled Out. All done in Illustrator. That teddy bear is rocking Vanilla Ice’s signature Nike Blazers yo!
EDIT updated tee. bigger head, All Souled Out label on the tongue of the shoes, baggier shirt, changed the smoke, fuzzied up the hat, added stitching to the seams, put TONS of detail in to the cigarette, added shadows from smoke/cigarette/bottle, fixed shadows on the hand holding the 40 ounce, changed shirt color to red, moved text off of teddy shirt.
EDIT updated, reduced number of colors to 6 for printing reasons, changed smoke, reset to original text! :D this is the final version.
These will be printed on american apparel 2001 heather grey and brown.

i love it. theres just a few fixes. I think the arms are way too long for the body, you can fix this by makign teh head a little bigger, also, make the white in the hat lok a little furry and less shape-ish
I personally LOVEEEE
the first text.

I’m gonna have to agree with EZ. The font with the more ragged ends and black/darker red stroke was pretty badass.
I’d like the cigarette smoke better behind the bottle where it crosses the very lip.
It’s an awesome design.

i dig the illustration; it’ll look really cool if it’s a big print on the shirt. i also agree that the head should be bigger. i like that the text is on his shirt and not above him.. the newest version is definitely my favorite. i also think putting the smoke behind the bottle would be a great idea. i think this is your best design

i love the first text too, I made that with a watercolor brush and it came out EXACTLY how i wanted it to. He didn’t like it though, so I changed it up for him.

thanks for all the great comments!
i have to say it’s a pleasure to work with Josh – he just gets it! and obviously he’s a good designer!
we are considering changes to the text, santa hat should be fuzzier – i agree, cigarette smoke, body/head size, etc.
what do you guys think about the face of the bear…any opinions!
sittingduck said about 1 year ago
he’s rockin the 40 ounce!
ategreen said about 1 year ago
That’s either a really big teddy bear or a really small 40 oz…
sittingduck said about 1 year ago
really big teddy bear, he wouldn’t be holding a mac 10 by himself either. lets just try not to be so literal :p

Dude, this is so freaking tight.

Sweet. I still like the first Font better, but I figure you went with this one because it’s easier to read?
The hat being fuzzier is great, cigarette smoke makes me happier, head is slightly more proportionate, and I didn’t say anything, but I didn’t love the seams at first and thought they’d look nice stitched. You took the words right out of my head! lol
Seriously, I love your artwork. This is badass.

thanks man, i actually didn’t go with the first lettering because the client didn’t like it. I LOVE the first text i did, I’m still really fond of it, but it’s not going to be for me, so that’s why I stuck with the other one, it’s actually a custom typeface modeled similar to a font called clubhouse or something like that. The first custom typeface was done in illustrator with a paintbrush set to a watercolor brush. thanks for the comments :D

allsouledout said 12 months ago
yeah, $32 is high, it’s a 6-color process. very expensive to produce.

Are you guys sure you’re not gonna get in trouble for selling something with the Nike Swoosh on it?
derekdeal said 12 months ago
why dont you utilize the shirt as a color, seems like a waste, knockout the color on the laces and in the smoke and you’re down to 5 inks.
to comment on pricing, id never spend more than 20 – 25 bucks on a t shirt and for that it better be bangin.
allsouledout said 12 months ago
already went to print. the difference between 5 and 6 colors wouldn’t make a difference.
good points but..
the vanilla ice blazers are made as red/light blue, so any variation would not be true vanilla ice blazers.
printing the shirts on brown and heather grey tees, so i don’t see how we could knock out the smoke – it’s white and the butt is the same color as the beer.
well i’m no lawyer…but from what i understand it’s artist rendered. when an artist creates something it’s their rendition and becomes artwork/artist property rights.
i’ve seen so many shirt designs that utilize swooshes and images of sneakers like dunks, and jordan’s, etc.
ever see any of dave white’s painting’s on nike’s? his shirts?
