I mostly only use images like the ones above that are definitely in the Free use or Copywrite free, or an Attribution-ShareAlike License category... its possible someone might mislabel an image but im willing to take the risk and take steps to manipulate images further...and therefore hopefully appropriating it... I'm finding the appropriation/copywrite legalality information to be kind of vague, except for some basic guidelines to follow to stay out of trouble which i feel confident I'm clear of danger... You should see all the free government images out there too! The Library of Congress has some really nice ones on flickr... thats where the gunner in the top right is from... anyways, I'm not worried...for now..
