I know the emptees crowd will probably get up in arms for the lack of Horror flicks, but I think it's a pretty good list.

definitely thought #79 Silence of the Lambs &amp; #46 50 foot Woman should've been higher.

I think it was missing
Dark Night,
Apocalypse Now,
The Howling,
Fear &amp; Loathing,
Vacation,
&amp; The Warriors.

&lt;/a&gt;

Better cause, if you think the list is junk, you can change it.

Just looking for anyone interested in participating in our 100 greatest T-shirts ever experiment.

I recently saw the few top 100 shirts lists pop up online here, and really thought the lists were too narrow minded and specific.

I think if I get enough of a broad participation we can come up with a pretty nice and informative list....who knows it might be a killer resource in the future...

I admit it was interesting finding a lot of the tees online.

I just posted it together last night....if anyone is interested I started out with 54 easy iconic tees and included some junkers, with the hopes it builds up by participation.

It's a submit your own &amp; vote concept.

posted on my blog...

Check it out if you crave knowledge...

Heavy stuff....economics, politics, energy, poverty, technology

it is a movie though...2 hours long
I watched working tonight.
Truly enlightening and knowledge empowering video.

I'm usually very sceptical but this thing seems to hit it on the head.

the website

**the other zeitgeist movie is very religion based, and is a bit more touchy to some.

the venus project they talk about in the movie

zeit&#183;geist | Pronunciation: 'tsIt-"gIst, 'zIt | Function: noun | Etymology: German, from Zeit (time) + Geist (spirit) | Date: 1884 | Meaning: the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era.

Since most Emptee'ers are super creative...maybe someone here just has the next great idea that can help us all.

Google says they're aren't evil....and I guess they're going to try to prove it.

Google is looking to invest 10 million Dollars into a few ideas that will help the most people as possible.

What can you do with a few million dollars that will make the world a better place....easy enough, huh?

<body>Just some market research....and I don't really know if this can be answered....but

since this is mostly a band based apparel site, maybe it can.

Will you still love your favorite band(s) when you are 40 or 50, and you can see them for free at the local state fair?...or dive bar...(assuming they reunite, or maybe stay together)
...
or does the youth now-a-days not have the attention span?...and would rather chase the next trend?

Basically is there any sort of brand or music loyalty going on?...and do you think it's worth building a style that's timeless or better to change markets as time goes on?

<body>Anyone know the business details with the Affliction Banned MMA event this Saturday?...

I can't imagine they have the kind of capital/clout to pull something like trying to take out the UFC.

I know they are very popular and expensive shirts, with alot of MMA fighters wearing them....but damn....that is a pretty big jump for a "clothing label"

I seen Trump in the ring at the end....is this his venture?...anyone hear if he a partner in this?

I ordered it, and it was pretty slow...although the Fedor vs Couture bout would be sweet.</body>

<body>I know this has been talkied about at least 50 times since I joined here.....and that's only been a month now...the trendy-clique-mob here is crazy so I'll get flamed I know...

but maybe someone will take the advice to heart...and maybe it'll help someone....so it's worth it.

-

So I just thought I'd post this.

I deal with a totally different type of art than most of you - but I've sold so many crappy shirts for other companies it's ridiculous....but they made the money on them....not me...and it starts to suck once you do this for 10+ years....

Just a bit of advice for newer artists wanting to make a living doing this.

If you are intimidated by the business aspect....get an Art Rep!....they will take anywhere from 5-30%...but since anyone can post an online portfolio now-a-days....they are looking for artists to rep....plus they know the business, and have connections, you can only dream about....and they know how to squeeze every last penny outta the budget.

Don't do spec work!....if you know you are good enough to do this for a living then ask for payment.
if you want to get your name out there...there are much better much more effective ways.
like sending out promo material, or charity work.

Always set a rough charge and a final charge....and rarely take royalties...unless there is a legal contract, and it's a very reputable company...royalties are "almost" always a scam.

we charge $100-150 for a rough and $800-$1200 for a final....for a 1 time design.

but hey if a client wants 10 designs at a crack, I have no problem giving price breaks...$50 a rough $600 a final....it is relationship building.

If someone can sell a tee for $25 the company should have no problem buying the design rough for $50.

Our good clients don't even require roughs anymore, we've built the trust up so it's waived, and it goes right to final.

plus the final time input vs invoiced amount is what matters...balance it out.
If your hours into a job ever equals $0 invoiced...you are doing it wrong.

Prices will always depend on the demand of the art, and how many printed pieces they are selling.
Find Out how many they are selling!
if a company is selling 5000 pieces, the art can at least be $1000..that's $.20 per shirt cost.
but at 500 pieces, the art is $2 per shirt cost....so price accordingly.

and always get a deposit on the final...or setup legit business credit terms with them....dont just give away net30/60/90!

Always retain your Rights!....or charge a pricey premium to transfer full rights.
Remember you always retain your rights, unless you specifically sign them away in writing.

I know alot of you know this but some beginners don't....just thought I'd help.

There is a lot of tires spinning in the art world, and most of it is self imposed.

just my .02
