Here are some deets.
<img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2477/4082885081_2f4d1c045d_b.jpg" />

So I am in the beginning stages of getting a website and all that, and doing up a me only line.
So looking at it, the goat head dude although it is my favorite would make for a shity shirt, much as I hate to say it. So I am going to go for a poster for that one.

Thoughts on what you see.

Something you could hang over your windows in a dorm room or whatever. Great feedback so far, thanks guys.

Would it be lame to have black over silver foil on an acid wash black shirt.
Or do they make a metallic black ink?
Or just keep it simple, black and white on black shirts for all of them.

This is not going to be a regular thing, I am aiming for a gift shop deal on the side.
Then I am going to transition into doing commissions of original ink drawings as my main focus. I will still be doing shirts for people, and contest, but I want the website to be sort of like my own personal museum on the web aimed at sophisticated adults and the art snob market. The biggest thing I have always liked about shirts is that it's an affordable way to buy art without having to go broke.

I got one of the warthog of paradise shirts for doing Ript, and I am very impressed with it on an actual shirt. I have to agree the purple is a bit much, I picked it because it matches the color palette of the design, but it's a bit girly for the dudes. I'm to old to care about such things anymore, but for the normal shopper I think It would work better on another color.
The monkey gabber shirt was originally intended for a 2012 threads flyer, but I'm glad it didn't work out, it's just a nice solid tripy monkey. I love monkeys.

I can't afford them but pretty boxes would be nice.

I think the others are really rad also, but you can't see the deetz when selling online. You can't see whats going on with the design from a small image, so it wouldn't draw someone in, if that makes sense.</blockquote>

I think that's part of the problem with someone like myself or QN...if people could see the drawings in person they would probably have a much higher appreciation for them...
so hard to convey that online...</blockquote>

Definitely. You only have like 5 seconds max to grab someones attention with a design while selling online & you have to do it from a tiny picture (especially if you are using Bigcartel), this can be very difficult if people can't "get it" from a small product shot.

<blockquote><cite>OvenRude said:</cite> You ever think of having your work printed on some wood blocks with nice grain on them?

Your illustration style would suit a woodblock print very well, and would also command a much higher price point than a poster.</blockquote>

I do something similar on linoleum blocks softer to carve but I haven't been able to find any in big sizes, I have a 5x3in one I offer as part of my deal now.
I should make some more and offer them as cheap stand alone deals.

Good point Will, I am bias because I spent 10 hrs staring at it at 600% zoom. I have it burned in my head, nice to get some fresh perspective.

I was thinking of screen printing onto the actual wood itself though. I think the wood grain would compliment some of your black and whites nicely.

The biggest thing I have always liked about shirts is that it's an affordable way to buy art without having to go broke.</blockquote>

Not to bring back the old stuff but this means no more pity posts from the Quaker? Cause i like what i'm seeing and you must have heard it many times: Your style is unique and distinct. Too distinct it makes ya think:"Na, can't rip the Quake, too easy to notice". Ha!

I would love to see some mocks on a raglan or crewneck sweater. Some of these designs could even do well on a bandana or scarf. I don't know if you're into that, just throwing up some suggestions of what i would consider.

Great job man. You got me hyped.

Sweet! it looks like a marketable range, make you identity solid! it's to be the platform for your bad arse designs to shout from. Do the web thing yeah, but I'd also make a mini catalogue a couple of logo tees, and start hitting up retail stores. I don't know what the seasonal buying calendar for retailers is like in america (find that out), but if you get some interest and your shirts sell they'll buy again, hello second quaker range.

Tip top mate!

I don't have a great deal of money do to my pooness, but I am willing to spend every penny to do it right.

My biggest challenge is to maintain my involvement. I tend to quite when things don't go right. It's up to be to stop that habit. If I can manage to dedicate just a percentage of the time I spend here all the time to the site it will do well I hope. I also understand that just letting sit on the internet is not going to do anything.

I am planing an interview series with some selected artist to roll out with, then I hope to transition to a weekly live draw show on ustream, with a weekly free give away, something along the lines of one of my original doodles.

The shirts will be permanent stables of the "giftshop" it makes no sense for me to advertise them as limited edition, when they are already limited by the fact that I am the only one selling them and there aren't that many because I can't print thousands anyway. I am going to get the website bill, shirts, and if I have anything left, I'll do some ready to hang framed wall decor stuff.

Portland is a great art town, and where I work at the theater I get to see the long list of donations to the preforming arts, so I hope it's not to big of a stretch to get those people also interested in supporting the visual arts.

Thanks for all the good support, don't let me fuck this up ok. I need to keep the hype alive.
