They don't hactually have mince meat in them anymore, well not the popular ones. Let me hit you with some (Wiki) knowledge:

A mince pie (sometimes also minced, minced meat, or mincemeat pie) is a British festive sweet pastry, traditionally consumed during the Christmas and New Year period. Mince pies normally have a pastry top, but versions may also be found without the top in which case they are known as mince tarts. Mince pies are filled with mincemeat – a preserve typically containing apple, dried fruits such as raisins and sultanas, spices, and either suet or vegetable shortening.[1] Modern mince pies typically do not contain any meat.

Never tried a mince pie...doesn't sound too bad.

I LOVE pasties though. Most people even here in America don't know what they are. I was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so it's basically a given that I like them. They caught on in the UP because in the mining towns, wives would make them for their husbands because they were easy to take with them to the mines.

This is what they look like:

A pasty (pronounced /ˈpæsti/ (the 'a' pronounced as in 'cat'), Cornish: Hogen; Pasti), known in (West) Cornish dialect as tiddy/teddy oggy/oggin, and sometimes as pastie in the United States, is a filled pastry case, commonly associated with Cornwall in the United Kingdom. It differs from a pie as it is made by placing the filling on a flat pastry shape, usually a circle, and folding it to wrap the filling, crimping the edge to form a seal. The result is a raised semicircular package. The traditional Cornish pasty is filled with beef, sliced potato, turnip and onion, and baked. Pasties with many different fillings are made; some shops specialise in selling all sorts of pasties.

Pasties with many different fillings are made; some shops specialise in selling all sorts of pasties.

everyone in the UK has more than likely ate more than 50 pasties in their life XD their good. there is at least 2 greggs pasty shop[bakery shop] in every town in the uk ah.
