So me and a buddy are going to this screenprinting tradeshow/conference in Orlando ISS, but we haven’t booked a hotel yet. Being that a large number of you guys hail from central FL. I figured you might have a suggestion on a safe hotel for a cheap price, good cheap food, and a place to catch some decent music and grab a beer. The show’s at the Orange County Conference Center I think so we’d like to stay kind of close.
Also if you AKT guys read this, we’d love to stop by and see how professionals run a print shop, if your open to that. Sounds awesome. Do you know where in the convention center? That place has like 4 different buildings/sections. I wouldn’t trust any of the hotels in the I-drive area. But if you start heading more towards Downtown Disney, it gets a lot nicer, but I couldn’t be certain how far that is from the convention center.

Stay away from the I-drive area... good to know. I’m not sure which section it’s in, but I know it’s pretty big. We’re just pumped about hopefully learning some things.

I-drive has a lot of places to eat/drink/whatever, but I wouldn’t stay the night there. It’s notorious for european tourists, and the locals who prey on them. Also the traffic is horrific.

I don’t really know what to expect either, but I’ve got a friend that frequents tradeshows in another industry. He says it’s a great way to learn the ropes if your new and to get a grasp of the newest trends.
We’ve allready booked a hotel, but if you want to meet up or something hit us up at decadetees@gmail.com . Oh, I also hear that the conference center charges like 10 bucks a day for parking.

If you are staying close to the area there is an i-drive trolly that will allow you to ride up to the Convention Center. If you aren’t staying near I-Drive parking takes a while in the morning so don’t try to cut it to close if your trying to making a seminar or something.

2 i guess, Im most likely going to all 3 days so whatever, I dont live that far away but It would cost as much in gas almost as it will a room.

Ok so whats the deal with the whole AKT tour? Are you guys still planning that, if so I would love to jump in on that.

I should be going. Does anyone know where I can register myself as a walking guests if my passes don’t come through, or if anyone here can register me?!
As far as hotels, I suggest staying at the Rosen hotel that is right next door, but it’s very expensive. Across the street is also the Peabody, but again expensive, not sure what your style, taste, and budget are. Post those and I can help you more, as I’ve lived in Orlando for 4 years now. I’ve been going to tradeshows at the OCCC for over 12 years.

I think you can do it under your own name but if not I can def help.
