legit jobs

it seems like everyone on here has legit freelance jobs for bands and companies and i was just wondering how you all get these jobs? do you just do designs and then submit them hoping they get accepted or do the companies/bands email you asking you to do something for them?

sorry for being a noob, but id really like to start getting some freelance work

   There are a few ways you could go about getting freelance work. The easier but slower way to get work is to do work super cheap for people/bands you know. Do some shirt designs, or websites for smaller bands or companies, build a porfolio and work your way from there.

   Another way to do it is to just pitch ideas to everyone you know. Design some tees for your favorite bands, gather some contact emails from record labels, band sites, or merch stores and pitch your designs to them. If they like your work, you can gain an ongoing relationship with them and keep doing more.

   Build relationships with people and network, network, network.

   exactly. If your work is good enough the band and companies will start coming to you and you don’t need to constantly hound around for new work. Its nice when you see that starting to happen.
