What do you guys recommend or use as a font organizer? We have a lot of fonts here at work (I work as a t-shirt designer) that we use for designing t-shirts, and to be honest, we have WAY too many. So many in fact that Illustrator CS has to be opened twice because the first time it’s opened it crashes due to the volume of fonts.
So, if you guys have any recommendations, $ or free, I would really appreciate it.

as far as i know it only exists on MAC! so best is keep an external file with most fonts and print them out! look up the font u want to use though the print outs and then drag the font in the fonts folder,
all ur software must take forever to load if ill crashes !!...

Googled
I know Computer Arts Projects did a whole type issue, which i have at home, and they reviewed a couple for mac and pc, but i can’t remember what programs they said were best. I use the basic mac fontbook.

I did Google it, trust me, but before I rumble through 50 blog posts and trackbacks, I wanted to ask the designers to see if I could get a personal response.
Thanks for the responses guys!

Suitcase
I used Adobe Type Manager Deluxe when I had to use windows. Unfortunately though, Adobe discontinued it.

For PC, I use FontAgent Pro. I think its one of the best font manager apps for PC. Cost 100 bones though..

Those are all awesome suggestions! I did find the article in CA, and I found an article comparing Suitcase, FontAgent Pro, Apple Font Book, and LinoType’s Type Explorer X….and they all said that Suitcase was the way to go.
I really appreciate all of your help guys. You don’t know how valuable it is.
