So i been paying more and more attention to the website, www.rumplo.com, and I like what i see so far. Rumplo doesnt seem to have as many zombie and skull shirts, but i dont really see the community portion of it as much as this site offers. So what are your thoughts?

I really like rumplo for the variety of shirt designs but I do miss the community part that emptees brings. Emptees is really more about testing out t-shirt designs and such. I’m thinking maybe about 80% of the shirts here haven’t actually been printed. I think the reason the community aspect of this site works because it’s become a lot more about the designer than about the shirt/clothing brand. Now I’m wondering how well clothing brands are selling based on sales coming from emptees.

exactly, emptees is really for the designer. Rumplo is more for the consumer. People put up tees they think are cool, not necessarily tees they designed themselves.

I love the variety of Rumplo also, but I do feel that Emptees is much better! We do need to have more diversity on here though. I don’t feel that all genres of designs are truly enbraced on here.

Yea I agree, and thats my biggest gripe with this site, is that i feel its almost kind of a "niche", in that the community we have here is a machine that likes what its familiar with, so things that defy what is expected are sometimes met with either a mob mentality or are just completely ignored.

Part of me really agrees that Emptees does favor a certain style of shirt designs (Zombies, gore...) and that other great designs aren’t embraced in the same way, but the other part of me asks what is different about that vs. the skull craze that went on a few years ago? Emptees is still a young community (comparatively) and hasn’t seen a design trend shift yet. I think Emptees is an excellent indicator of current design qualities and trends. Look at major brands like Rockett, they love the zombies, gore thing and they are a major player right now. Some day the zombie thing will die off, just like skulls did, and there will be a new fad. Brands and designers alike should look at the trends on Emptees to get a good feel for current and upcoming industry directions, I think it’s a great resource.

+1 on that point. I have seen too many tees not get TOTD just because it wasn’t the "norm" for this site. I say good design is good design!
