And, it looks too high quality to pass with the type of horror that [Rec] was going for.
Hollywood ruined another movie.

I saw this last night. It was great, I downloaded [rec] after i got home from the movie and it was exactly the same as Quarantine except not in english. I am glad the remade it. so much is lost in translation, especially in horror movies, when you have to read subtitles. Can anyone explain to me any differences between the two. I hear everyone bitching that they did the movie a great injustice by remaking it. To me it seemed that is was the exact same movie, just with different actors and in a different language.
edit: the reporter in the spanish version is way hotter.

The American version was green-lit while [rec] was still in production. So they had not seen the finished version and had no idea how well it would do in Spain. They are basically the same movie in different languages produced at approximately the same time. The differences between the two are minor and pretty incosequential.
The people i hear saying that Quarantine sucks are the same people who as soon as Juno came out had suddenly been listening to the Moldy Peaches since birth. They just think it makes them sound cool to say that something not many people have heard of or are capable of viewing is cool.
i loved the blair witch project style ending, and the whole thing with the Warning, may contain spoilers!rabies was an awesome sickness/cause of zombification for the people. haha
