I always wondered if electric threads corp. was ok
or if i should of maybe gone with electric threads
that always comes to minds and i wanted to solidify that issue so i could stop thinking about that
because iv established myself well in my school like everyone knows me but i have not yet even got my name out in the public really
so i was wondering if i should keep or drop that one extra word "corp."

electricthreads said about 1 month ago
ok just cause electricthreads.com is taken maybe i can do electricthreadsapparel.com or something like that
do you think that change will be fine because im pretty well established in my school
but outside of school nobody knows me so you think it wont really effect anything?

Why would you want to name your company after someone elses company?
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
hahahaha nooo i mean the website is taken but its not trademarked and when you go to the website it just shows as some weird thing that has nothing to do with a company it looks like someone bought it a long time ago and is still holding it or something the company name isnt taken though
im not that low to take other peoples ideas haha

the name is cool, i just think its too much like electric zombie, i mean, theres a one word difference, but i nit pick over things like that.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yeaa or electric sunglasses those sunglasses they sell at zumiez i though about that when i first made the name i just wonder if the corp. is a nusiance or if its okay enough to just leave in there so i dont have any issues with other companies.
dylanmaker. said about 1 month ago
yeah, id loose the corp part, it just sounds so serious business and unnecissary.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea thats what i think when i look at big businesses like dropdead, rockett, electric zombie, etc. so yea i think ill just link my electricthreadscorp. site to my electric threads apparel site :P
but yea id like a few more opinions before i make my decision thanks for the help so far :)

electric is taken trademarked
its trademarked by electric the glasses company
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea i know electric is taken cause i see their glasses in zumiez thats why i did electric threads corp. so i wouldnt have any problems and i was worried about the issues i would have maybe with electric threads.

why would you want a brand name with so much confusion is what i am getting at. With so many similar brand names and what not. All you did was ask what everyone thought of your name and already like 3 or 4 different brand immediately came to mind. That is going to make hard to establish your brand as unique.

storm cloud apparel? :p

http://www.electricvisual.com/home.htm
a pretty big company - sunglasses and snowboard goggles - who also do tees with 'electric' all over them
dont you lot check on google? i have to point out to '32' that there was already a company called this and he had to change his name
electric threads is nice but i would change it if there was even a sniff that another more successful company already was trading with it. they can afford better lawyers than you.
i know its a pain but i think you should change it
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
hmm yea thats true do you think there wont be that much confusion with electric threads corp.
because for example when i think of dropdead at first i thought it was drop dead gorgeous the band
because yea your right electric threads actually might have some confusion but do you think electric threads corp will be ok

I dont see anything wrong with the name as it is. Lots of "non corporate" companies use things like factory or co. in their name. So, I think corp. is fine.
Also, I wouldnt be confused by other similar names. Once you start using multiple words as a part of your companies name you are almost definitely going to overlap a little bit with someone elses name.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea thats what i assumed because electric zombie and other companies like that never popped up when i though of my name
only electric the sunglass company thats why i chose electric threads corp. i just wanna know if ill be fine with that because the only similarity is "electric"
i dont know i just wanna strive to be big and i dont wanna have huge issues along that way :P
darenisdopeee said about 1 month ago
drop corp drop electric
threads is cool to me
not sure if its taken
dylanmaker. said about 1 month ago
dude, i would change the name, people are mentoning other laready well established "electric whatever" companies, and putting corp on the end just doesnt doesnt sound right, and its very unnecisary.
if i were you i would just change the whole thing.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea thanks for the insite like i wanna keep something to be somewhat electric just because my logo and it fits me as a person ya know
also by the way iv checked out your clothes i think your stuff is sick and it seems like its going somewhere
also its cool seeing someone else my age doing something and suceeding haha :P
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
so should i change my logo and everything else also? i just wanna know if theres a way to keep from trouble without loosing everything iv established
darenisdopeee said about 1 month ago
thanks dude... good luck with the name situation.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea dude for sure your welcome haha and yea thanks i hope i can get this all resolved :P
dylanmaker. said about 1 month ago
you wont loose anything dude, the people who really want to buy from your line, and wear your product will stick by you because of quality good, and great art, not your name. not that your company name has nothing to do with being succesful, because a good name is necissary, im just saying, theres a lot of electric out there, and if i were you i wouldnt want a name with such close similarities.
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea for sure i totally get what your saying i think im gonna research some more look for anything that might look to close to what im going for. Cause electricvisual is not really anything close to what im doing and electric zombie is horror while im not really gonna do that stuff except holloween. Also im gonna get a trademark search and see if ill have any issues but yea thanks for all the insight and information :D
dylanmaker. said about 1 month ago
no problem dude, i just hope it didnt seem like i was forcing my opinion on you or anything, ebcause thats the last thing id want to do. well, the best of luck to you!
electricthreads said about 1 month ago
yea no i totally understand what your getting at i asked a question on you answered :P thanks a ton :D
dylanmaker. said about 1 month ago
youre welcome.

i do a lot of snowboarding and used to have some Electric goggles. One does end up saying 'Electric' not 'Electric Visual' i.e " that guy is wearing an 'Electric' tee shirt/goggles/sunglasses"
this is wear the confusion comes in because if someone was wearing one of your tees Id say "that guy is wearing an 'Electric' tee shirt"
i feel your pain though man, youve got a great logo.
You might be ok, but there might be problems ahead
ithew said about 1 month ago
This does and doesnt make sense...a lot of the branding on Electic (Visual)'s products just say Electric on it, no visual. The google bands, some of the shirts and even on the sunglasses it just says Electric so thats why one would call Electric Visual "Electric"
If you always keep "Electric Threads" together at all times I think its fine
chalk said about 1 month ago
because you say 'apple' not 'apple computer company'
it always gets abbreviated
robolove said about 1 month ago
You could always change the "c" to a "k" so it becomes "Electrik" then it becomes a different word but still sounds the same. I think corp is tacky I would get rid of it.
