Features you wish illustrator had

posted about 1 month ago by Ben Danger

Heres a few of mine,

Being able to still see jpegs when scaling them

Being able to get rid of that dumbshit icon thing at the top of the toolbar that opens up acrobat everytime you click it by mistake

more extensive warp options

ability to use gradients in brushes and strokes

ability to align strokes to outside on unexpanded text

Ability to preview separations

And for cs4, not sure if it is, but a pressure sensitive blob tool would be sweet.

It should have a tool for spirals like Freehand. Could be useful sometimes.

It would be nice if they combined a lot of the features from InDesign... like if Illustrator was able to have multiple pages instead of just one.

yeah multiple page pdf compatibility would be sick. Pretty much, why the fuck havn’t they combined indesign, photoshop and illy into the same program yet?

I like your list, but add an autosave feature. I forget to save sometimes and have lost some significant work.

A make this 4 colors button and also pantone, that does what it says instead of only making them slightly light tints. Also include after effects in the Design Premium duh.

i’m pretty sure most of the things you’ve all said are in cs4, or at least a lot of them such as multiple pages, i think they added the artboard tool for that. also gradients were made better i think, a pressure sensitive blob tool, tabbed windows will be nice, cs4 will be a huge upgrade

AI CS3 has a spiral tool. Its in the tool set with the line segment tool, arc tool, etc. Unless what Freehand has is different?

I can’t wait for CS4 for the blob tool and tabbed windows alone.
