Hi, I was wondering if you guys can shed some light on this...Im NOT considering starting a clothing company but kind of want to sell a few shirts of a few designs I particularly like.
Heres the quote:
The minimum for jumbo printing is 72 pcs. Your quote at that level is as follows:
--------------------------------------------------
QUOTE
--------------------------------------------------
50-99 PIECE PRICING
JUMBO PRINT PRICING
2c/0c WHITE TEE = $6.25 per / $100.00 setup
5c/0c TEE = $7.75 per / $250.00 setup
72 x 6.25 = $450.00
72 x 7.75 = $558.00
7 SCREENS = $350.00
SHIPPING = $38.08
GRAND TOTAL = $1396.08
--------------------------------------------------
So thats 144 shirts...and $1400 bucks on American Apparel. I guess Im a little hesitant.. just dont want to get stuck with a crap load of shirts and out $1400. Not sure if these would sell or what.
For the People is still at 201 votes on DBH and Trying to Catch that Wave is around 70. Not sure if theyll ever get printed.
Would you or someone you know buy these or should I just forget about selling them on my own? Be honest please. Thanks Emptees!

Im no expert on this as i have just been doing research in the process of starting my line but i think you can get it cheaper then that, i would check around a little more, i did a quick check on Store envy pricing and it came out for what your getting to like $1050 before shipping if my math is right (which i cant gurantee) so i would check around a few places to get the best price...as far as if it will sell i would consider buying the first one, but i think both are solid designs and with a little marketing you should turn a profit on these imo....hope that helps.

Thanks for your input. Ill check a few other places.

Thanks Kyleisez, heres what they said:
We can do up to 20" x 28".
I would need to see a larger mockup to be sure but when someone is wearing
it, it should appear like the mockup. Theres no way that the print will
wrap around onto the back of the shirt but we can print it to all edges.
If you take a tape measure and plot out 20" x 28" on a shirt that you own
yourself youll be able to get an idea of the size of the print.

Those set up fees are high to me, Ive never done an over size jumbo print so I dont know what is required to set it up, but It seems high.
There is a bigger problem, You would have to sell them yourself at $28-30 bucks a pop and thats not going to happen over the internet without some backup, fans, website, myspace whores, ect.
Try Tee fury, Or if you just want one for yourself, settle for a smaller size and go with redbubble, they use AA.

I think those designs would sell very well.
I say go for it!

its still less than $10 a tee, sell em for 20-25 and ull still do well
or U could try put some in a local shop this might clear some of the excess stock
But sounds like u should get more quotes

It can be done. I would help with a buy. I didnt mean to imply that your getting a bad deal, printing jumbo, colored shirts takes moo la la. I was just thinking if you dont want to be out the money and sitting on some unsold shirts, that there were other options.
Its doable, theres a good chance you wont get all the money back, I would do it for the love of the shirts.

Like anything on the web you need traffic. You can have some great shirts but if no one knows about it then you wont get any sales. Its tough in the beginning and takes a lot of patience.
Also those setup fees seem really high. Did you talk to Jimmy yet?

Just really curious how does one get a hold of him cuz I sent him and e-mail and havent gotten a response yet. I know hes super busy and all but I just want to know hows the best way to get the mans attention.
But to stay on topic . . . those setup fees do sound kinda high . . . although Ive never done jumbo prints either . . .

Jimmy, you out there? Maybe you can help me?

Yea store envy is very solid... no charge for screens is great and i dont think they have a set up charge.
{miles to go} said about 1 month ago
set up fee is crazy. a larger screen costs maybe 40 cents more in emulsion used and maybe the same per tee in ink. sounds like they are quickly trying to get bakc having to buy large shirt boards or do some alteration to the print set up. i would never go with a place charging that much for set up, ever.
MattLambdin said about 1 month ago
I know someone who will do that shit for like $3 a shirt on white and like 5-6 on color
to me, those sound like the prices to get hoodies printed. haha
MattLambdin said about 1 month ago
oh, and with no setup fee
DrewGliever said about 1 month ago
agreed.. thats about $19 a tee.. hoodie prices!
Jon Kruse said about 1 month ago
If this is true thats the steal of a lifetime seeing as how the prices of AA blanks are more than $3 each. The printer would be losing money for each shirt.
Cole said about 1 month ago
yea we are just 10 dollars a screen.
shmokey said about 1 month ago
cut some costs and use Tultex maybe?
Cole said about 1 month ago
tultex is only a dollar cheaper.
