I just came from their show in my hometown (Evansville, IN) and it was orgasmic.

   haha same story. yeah they are christians, they’re all really nice guys. and the story behind the band name is true. i know the original lead singer, Jon, who started the band. His crazy ex-girlfriend August burnt his dog Redd alive. The newspaper headline about it read "August Burns Red"...hence the name.

    Saw them this past summer, they were really good. They do have a LOT of breakdowns, though. At least they’re somewhat creative with them.

    dude i sat and watched him awestruck last night.
    hes definitely a solid drummer, one of the better ones ive seen.
    he definitely doesnt need or use a crutch--the china gives their breakdowns a killer sound.
    but then again, im not a drummer.

    August burns red is sooo amazing... the one thing they seem to lack to me is the power aspect of it in their breakdowns. Like in as i lay dying their breakdowns make you wanna really jump around a f*ck something up.

    But ABR is sooo much more technical, just a brilliant band.
