R.I.S.D is supposidely an awesome school, you have to be pretty 1337 to get in I hear.
awakendesigncompany said 2 months ago
hey, you do have buy adobe programs to keep up with some classes. so thats a major plus :)

Ive actually learned a lot i was a skeptic going in because freshman year i went to cleveland institute of art which is a real good art school. but i actually love the art institutes its more like a real college not just an art school

I go to Syracuse University, Im in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications for Illustration Photography its great. All the professors have been in the industry and have a lot of experience; the facilities and equipment are also top notch. Were in the top 10 communications schools in the nation. Thats just Newhouse, there are plenty of other great colleges within SU.

if anyones got questions about full sail and doesnt wanna ask on here feel free to email me at ryanmiller@relentlessstudio.com or IM me sticksstones87
full sail was great.. i highly recommend it. classes are crazy because theyre at all hours of the day/night, but you get used to it real quick. it was cool because i got my bachelors in two years. teachers are awesome. what they teach you and how much is awesome.

why does the description of pitts "digital design" class sound more like something i could take in my freshman year of high school? "introduced to sophisticated design software" and "leaving with the skills to build a portfolio" sound more like something my tenth grade tech teacher would say. the graphic design description barely sounds more inviting, saying that ill be able to build a portfolio worthy of entry-level positions in small ad firms. that doesnt sound too inviting.
im trying to find schools based more in the northeast because colleges like ringling and savannah are probably far too expensive due to my out-of-state-ness.
skullface said 2 months ago
V lets go to Ringliiing
weaselfarm said 2 months ago
thats because digital design is just a diploma program.. meaning its only liek a year or two, might be wrong but i know its much shorter then bachelors. Look at Bachelors for graphic design. Any diploma program u do is going to be pretty short meaning not much is covered but go back and look at graphic design.

State funded or Private? How much do you want to spend?
Are you going to take student loans or pay it out of pocket?
Private schools are great but your going to be paying those off for the next couple years after you graduate. Another point is that you dont stop learning when you get a job in the industry. They dont hire you as an entry level designer and have you actually design stuff. They make you clean images and do all the shit jobs until they think your ready.

Im mostly like going to at Herron School of Art and Design next year. Its part of IUPUI in Indianapolis and is a great all around school. Ive visited and stayed on the campus and toured the school. Very good possibilty for me. Id reccomend it to anyone in the midwest.

Im planning on getting my basics out of the way with a local community college that is supposidly decent. Is it a bad idea to do that then transfer to a art/design school(or Texas State)?
