I was big into Daim when I was a kid. I wrote him a letter and he in turn sent one back with my name in his style. If I can find it Ill scan it. I was stoked.
I scrolled through the whole topic and this was only piece that made stop and watch.. god damn this is awesome, theres some many sorrow and pain in this, you can literally touch them
I am actually looking for someone that would be interested in interviewing artists for IATT features, email me at info@iamthetrend.com if you are interested!

frank miller, especially his sin city series (the influence his work is to mine is pretty obvious)
yuko shimizu (funny little bit of trivia, she and james jean used to be roomates)
justin maller
cristiano siqueira
si scott
franz kline
caravaggio - he was the first painter to discover light in shadows (chiasccurro or whatever the hell they call it)
vermeer - he is largely believed to be one of the first painters to use photographic reference - BEFORE photography was even known to be invented. (camera obscura...)
and last but not least, in total contrast to the old masters, lol, is hazel dooney - i love her work and i love her thoughts...
