i need to post a tee at the perfect timing that is almost totd worty but since there are no other good designs up at that time..i will reign victorious

it seems a little harder now, I’ve only been here like 4 months but you need to get in the 50's now to get it right away, I got one with high 30's or low 40's a couple months ago.
There seems to be a couple of particular styles that I can put my finger on that is almost garentied to win and if your style doesnt fit into those categories you can pretty much hang it up. At least that’s what I’ve seen in my short period of time here.
Plus it seems a little clickish, some of the old veterans get tons of votes no matter if their design is good or not.

A lot of my past shirts that I’ve submitted, I’ve rushed because I was so eager to see how much love I could get. I recently learned that rushed work is noticeable, and if you really want to do well, then one must really take the time and effort to man an amazing piece. The idea doesn’t have to be so unusual, but as long as it’s well executed and it looks like there was effort and thought put into the design, I think it will get a lot of credit. This is just what I think though.

But don’t you think exposure is a good thing on here? Especially if someone is trying to get work?
I have only entered one shirt not too long ago, and I thought that it did well. I didn’t expect to get any votes at all because I didn’t have gore in it (I’m not that kind of dude). But TOTD is the goal, someday!!

if you time it right, if you can get a good consensus, you can get enough exposure to take your votes on a contest site up a few notches, but it only really works well if its one of those TOTD that really catches EVERYONES opinion, which is rare.

a kickass design is a good way to get one. also, being popular helps(yes jimiyo, you are popular, haha, too bad you have such good designs no one can actually say you don’t deserve your totds)
I think TOTD is pretty important because I know for me, if I ever got TOTD, it would really push me to keep doing quality work, and it probably feels really good as a designer to know that 50+ people like your design THAT much. Even if I totally sucked, which I’ll admit that I did when I first started, TOTD is something that I really want to work hard at getting so it forces and inspires me to just keep getting better and better. I think because of TOTD, I’m slowly getting better at t-shirt art and illustration because it’s like a goal that I hope to achieve.
well, i do have to say this...totd is not that important to me as is good feedback, suggestions and stuff. also the fact that a few designers i really admire like my stuff now and then makes it all good, i get my pat on the back, it keeps me going, even if i can’t sell stuff as people are apparently too cheap.

I only have recent success with TOTDs. They’re great exposure. I’ve had some good leads for new work with them. It also pushes you to do TOTD quality work.
i have gotten in the top three a couple times and i have always been very excited. i dont care much that they dont win. im just happy with the loves i am getting and when they are from designers that inspire me and i look up to with the utmost respect... thats reward enough. i dont need a little ribbon blocking my pretty tee i slaved over :)

Your welcome think your designs are very underated. Your hands on clothing shirt is on my list when I finally get paid in September. Top three would do me fine. Front page would be a bonus!

but if a client saw how many other designers loved it im sure it would translate to actual sales of the shirt and they would be more opt to buy and buy for more.

It cuts down on the guess work when trying to figure out what to print on your one dime, nice to know what designs have a little buzz.

go to the tees
then change order by most loves
then just go though them till you hit the ones that don’t have totd.
there are alot stuck in the 50 to 40 loves range.
