Process of a Quaker.

My Process...
I saw this today and thought I would have a go my way.

The way I see it is not everyone can draw, so it’s kind of a waste for me to not make art.
I’m lucky to get payed to doodle stuff, it’s a great gig.

I was always one of those kids that didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wanted to do everything. not really do it but, its that fascination of stuff that keeps me going.

Step one get something to work with.(normally I get my people from 3d renders) but I just wanted to try this out with a photo) source photo by Hendrik Halvarsson Model Adina Fohlin.
Also sketch in ink, or painter. I use idenipen dual tips, the 24/7. and those fancy pants brush tip deals.

Step two something new Today its a line effect From Vector Designer.

Step 3 play with variations + add elements (sometimes I skip this part)
The play part is a big deal. Make a few copys to fuck up completely in the name of creativity.
warp, stretch, delete, flip and flop the hell out of em. add stuff, push buttons. (this part some times takes awhile,) What I am looking for is an interesting shape, that I can imagine into something. Like pretending a cloud is a dog or some silly notion. This can be an almost complete waste, so keep that head up. they can’t all be winners. (I try to save the design scraps as symbols, like cooking sometimes I can use them later.)

Step 4 Put on shirt Variations mock to see how it looks.
( I like to use many different models but today its this fine lady from the itself collection.)
clothing catalogues have some good ones too. and AA duh.

wait for feedback and rework.
hmm a funny thing happened here. This is no longer substantially similar to the original photo in anyway, I would then consider these squiggles to be mine, give it a goofy title, like Death and the Old Man, and no one need ever know about Mr. Henrik Halvarsson

This is just one of my ways, I’ll expand this later. Every style has its own secret, I try to keep experimenting, afraid I might miss some of the wonder of the art world I guess.
