Hey all,
So Im leaving Fantastic B(l)o(g)nanza (http://blog.fantasticbonanza.com/), which means my t-shirt blog its losing is primary contributor (me). Is anybody interested in writing for a t-shirt blog that has a decent amount of readers (I think were in the top 10 tee blogs)? I can easily set you up as an author if you are. You are welcome to do some whoring, but you have to write mostly about other stuff. Let me know, either here or by email. Anything related to t-shirts is a viable topic.
FanBlog has some very modest ad income (because we have only very modest ads, and most of our readers are via RSS), so they probably cant pay you. But you are welcome to use a transparent affiliate link as long as it doesnt detract from the post, and they get offers of free swag (which we decline if we dont like their tees).

Why are you leaving?
Joe said 4 months ago
Oh, I guess I should have addressed why Im quitting in the original post...
It boils down to a) not having enough time to take either the blog or the shop where Id want it, b) having learned as much as I think Im likely from the whole experience (which has been a lot) assuming I dont invest the extra time, and c) focusing on other things, like graduate school in anthropology, for which Ill be applying this year, and designing board games.

I dont think I would be good at that but I did just put the spray can and the other 2 tees up for preorder at shop.scapparel.net if you still want to write about that like before haha

Id love to do it also. Ill whore tees all day, and Ill gladly revamp that blog design for you as well (if you choose to do so)!

Jimmy you need to check out Tumblr. I use it for my personal blog and for our websites blog. If you need any help coding I would be happy to help you out.

Jon: I got it, but have been so swamped that I havent been able to write anything. I will post a brief thingy now. Also, I saw the sale written up on a bunch of blogs, so congrats on that. Hope its driving sales your way! Future emails should be sent to blog@ instead of joe@
Grant: I will totally write something short with pictures, as promised. But not tonight because I have to sleep.

So Joe anyone can be an author on the blog?
Joe said 3 months ago
No, not just anyone, but all of the people who have expressed interest so far have been of such high caliber that Id be glad to have them!
AYYOGOLDSTEIN said 3 months ago
I think id be able to but im far to lazy hahaha
AndrewOliv said 3 months ago
I have always had the motivation to be a tee-blogger, but never got around to it. this could be a fun experience!
collisiontheory said 3 months ago
Err I was sort of volunteering myself too lol. Id love to do it as well. I scour for tees everyday and I like a certain style. I think it would be cool to have different authors with different tastes. Id be down if you think im in the caliber of those guys as well. =)
Joe said 3 months ago
Um, of course you are. Ill send both you and Andrew emails with login info when I get home from work this afternoon.
So, is everybody okay with having a whole bunch of contributors? Because the response Ive gotten so far has been larger than I expected: 6 new bloggers! Which is great, since each one has a different perspective and is familiar with the industry from working in it.
collisiontheory said 3 months ago
Fantastic! Yeah I agree, different bloggers will bring in different styles. Could also expand your current audience demographic. What are your site stats by the way?
Go Ape Shirts said 3 months ago
Best of luck with everything, Joe!
AndrewOliv said 3 months ago
oooh its been awhile since ive been this excited.
sweet.
Joe said 3 months ago
Okay, emails sent out to Andrew and AJ. Thanks, Josh!
The most important site stat we have is that we had 411 feed readers this past Monday. Which means Tcritic still has 10x as many readers as we do.
