yeah it hurts the pocket specially when, I have barely anymore capital to spend on my apparel. but it was necessary, and it had all the makings of a good deal so I couldnt really pass it up.
and apparently the seller just bought brand from apple on the 29th of july, took it out of the box upgraded and installed everything for resale purposes only.

3k? why aint you just get a tricked out imac
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
needs a laptop for school, so I put all my eggs and one basket. annnnnd my shitty pc will still be my desktop comp for downloading and teh gaming
jaynajaynajayna said 4 months ago
Yeah, I kind of wish I had just gotten a shitty pc lap top for school, even with like a celeron processor, for taking notes and the shit you "need" it for in class (I discovered freshman year that the whole laptop in class thing is a sham, its just so you can ichat while your professor is being boring, basically) and had gotten a kickass desktop. Since I already sunk a little less than a grand into my macbook when they first came out Im saving for an imac... theres no good place to put a tablet by a laptop and I cant do shit on this screen without scrolling every 4 seconds.
Haha Im sorry Im totally being a wet blanket Im just kind of mad at myself. Good luck to you though, first mac is so exciting. Once you go mac..
heroes said 4 months ago
just get a sweet monitor for your laptop : ]
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
haha i guess thats personal preferance, but personally ive out grown the deketop, and now I also have a viable meeting tool for clients, I dont have to print everything out, and I can make small changes they can see for web design and such.
I dunno a high-end laptop is just were my life style is going haha. plus I can now work outside. desktops make me pale.

4 gigs of RAM sounds delicious
logan said 4 months ago
holy shit 500gb??? wow you lucky dog! haha my macbook pro has only 100gb. With all my music and software Im teetering with 7gb left of space.
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
yeah I didnt even know that was an option (apple site said only up too 300gb) but I guess theres upgradeable parts out there.
but frick, between music, design files, videos and big ass video games, im really happy with that size!
dsprad said 4 months ago
Wow dude that sounds really nice. I got my first Macbook Pro (or first Mac for that matter) but its not nearly as nice as that haha. Well enjoy all that power! It will be nice.

Master_Control said 4 months ago
Im saving up for HAL. I think he should get me through design school...
hardcoreposer said 4 months ago
thats an awesome macbook pro you got, you dont even need an external monitor with its 1920x1200 res. I just got mine (15") a couple weeks ago, 4gb ram, 2.4ghz, its pretty awesome as well. congrats!
btw, Team Fortress 2 is a great game, you should get it ;)
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
haha maybe I will. ill need something fun and mac compatible now haha.
hardcoreposer said 4 months ago
Im not sure if its the same for the super macbook pros like yours, but mine cant take video game 3d rendering on mac os x. So if you want to play a game with 3d rendering (like every game out today), just run a windows boot camp thing and itll be good to go, just running it off of parallels wont work for gaming
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
ahh yes ive heard that.. so fortress isnt a mac built game?
where do you find bootcamp? and windows os for the mac
skullface said 4 months ago
Fortress is a Protest the Hero album
hardcoreposer said 4 months ago
Ive never actually run bootcamp before, I only play on my 360 haha. Team Fortress 2 would be the first game Id get for my mac though. I believe youd legally have to own a version of windows, heres an article that might help http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/04/boot-camp-tutorial-install-windows-xp.html .
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
ahh cool, seems tricky though I would probably wreck something.
khay said 4 months ago
Naw dude, installing XP via Bootcamp is really easy.
justgeoff said 4 months ago
I didnt know they had a 500GB HD for the Macbook Pro
heroes said 4 months ago
i thought macs only went up to 160 maybe the 500 is his external he just mistyped
justgeoff said 4 months ago
Could be. Last time I checked they only went to 300GB, but that might have changed.
bblake said 4 months ago
nice work dude, Im pretty sure the HD only goes to 300GB as well.
AndrewOliv said 4 months ago
well he did describe it as 500GB 5400rpm HD SuperDrive in 3 different places (title, specs, description) if it was a typo then I will probably ask for some sort of rebate.
I found this on another mac for sale on a different site, I think this is the same scenerio.
