Controller is good but the others were a little better I think, like "Of Malice And The Magnum Heart".

I thought Controller was a big disappointment. I loved Malice and Mirrors.

I don’t understand the voice of the singer, this shitty effect on the new record, damn!
But guitars and drums are amazing.

Anyway their best song is "the year summer ended in june" for me.

I guess i’m kinda partial to the agony scene being that I’m from seattle ... I’m also a big fan of himsa as well. Anyone remember one minute silence?

Agony Scene’s cover of Paint It Black.. Mmmmmm yummy.

    Second album is the best.

I like Controller, but it’s not even Misery Signals anymore. They should have just gave the band a new name. It’s disappointing because I love MS so much. Mostly the vocals bug the shit out of me. Dude sounds like OBDub or Stick To Your Guns. I love both of those bands and their vocals fit well with their music, but these vocals aren’t fitting for MS’s melodic sound.

    Total bummer.

+1. once they got a new vocalist they went downhill. If controller is anything like mirrors, im gonna have to pass on that.
New ASP is garbage, they went from being a hard hitting metal band to putting out ambient and dark BS.

    I like Controller.
I still think it’s fitting with Mirrors, not Malice, which was the best release IMO.
at least they still keep those talking lyrics parts.
    like in Five years
"I can fool myself all that I want"
    &
    In Response To Stars
"I know that we all have grown
Even I now feel a calm like I have never known"

    and countless other lyrics.
I always loved when they do that spoken lyrics parts

gives me goosebumps every time i listen to that song. Theres just something about a band that changes their singer- they usually end up dissapointing me in the end. Unless we’re talking about the new Dance Gavin Dance album. Pure gold.

The new Dance Gavin Dance is genius. I love it.

I like the new MS vocalist, but I don’t think he meshes well with the band. Mirrors and Controller are great albums, but they don’t compare to Malace and the EP. The old vocalist was the most perfect match for the ambient melodic metal style they had going. A lot of the instrumental parts on Mirrors definitely reflects (see what I did there...) the old Malace sound. However, controller seriously just reminds me of OBDub.

this totally slipped my mind, but this is my friends short lived band from Southern Ontario, called Sovereign.
    Karl (Misery Signals singer)
did vocals on the song "oh, Casanova"

    www.myspace.com/sovereignhardcore

Karl is half way through for a line or two and at the end.

I totally agree. Current metal is getting boring.

Listen to Once Nothing - First Came the Law. They are self-proclaimed Blue Collar Metal. One of my all time favorite metal albums.

holy shit sitting duck, i remember oneminutesilence. they were on my ozzfest 98 sampler haha!

new misery signals is kind of meh...I really don’t dig the new singer’s voice...at all.

himsa were ok. I remember being into Ground Breaking Ceremony back in like 99-2000, and then their newest record was pretty solid. everything in between was meh.

I’ll always hold 7 angels 7 plagues way above misery signals. misery signals is way more solid but 7a7p was one of those bands that was essential back in the day. they bring the nostalgia factor. plus they were key right around the end of my participation in the whole 90's hardcore scene. those were the days! harvest, strife, threadbare, old converge, botch, yes yes yes.

you fail me see jacob bannon sounding the MOST like Donal Duck taling through a BOSS Metal Zone pedal.

i mean he almost always sounds like that, but its at its peak on you fail me

i really want to find a This Is Menace album. Cause their drummer is amazing. but i can’t find anything anywhere. apparently joey from slipknot found them cause their drummer was joey’s drum tech for awhile ... but in my opinion he’s twice the drummer that joey is. Not that i don’t rock slipknot’s first album constantly!

hate to break it to you all but every misery signals song written since jesse was in the band has been terrible. nothing worse than a singer who "screams" to the beat.

the new vox is good to me.

its deep and passionate for the lyrics. its not original but i still like. atleast they havent gone breakdown and two step metal. that gets old

and yes, metal is getting old. but i went from metalcore to like popcore (set your goals, nfg) and listening to black metal or death metal. i like winds of plague and the faceless

and ofcourse, acacia strain. if you dont like them, go kill yourself now.

also check out the ghost inside and for the fallen dreams and mychildren mybride

those 3 most an amazing tour

and the new asp is the same as before but way better

Misery signals is pretty much one of my favorite bands of all time. I love bands tha have that melodic hardcore sound, like misery signals, the carrier, life in your way, It prevails, in remberance, Shia Hulud and etc.

my hands down favorite band is the deftones. they aren’t as insane as some of the metal out there, but they are the best band I’ve ever heard no contest.
