Do you guys have any tips for getting designs you have on DBH or other contest sites noticed? I have gotten a few votes by posting here on the "Tee Whore" thread, but I still think it needs more attention. I dont like to be one of those people that have a bunch of friends that arent art saavy vote. Id like real artists/consumers with unbiased views to vote. Id like it to be legit.
It seems like unless it makes it onto the front page as a popular design for the day then its not going to get much attention.

Things that have worked for me:
1) ask for advice from these folks and listen to it.
2) ask for advice from other folks and listen to it.
3) actively comment on other peoples work.
4) emailing/IMing a few folks asking for their advice doesnt hurt.
I have had zero luck with the front page, to be honest. My designs that have done well generally get a bunch of loves in a short period of time. By the time they make it to the front page, the rush is over. They sit there and do nothing until they fall back off of the front page. Maybe garnishing a vote or two along the way.
Case in point: My tee off entry got 18 loves in 4 hours.. but has only gotten 4 more since then. It has been two days.
In contests like DBH or other voting sites, its okay to invite your friend. They count on you introducing new people to their site as prospective customers and you are doing them a service as much as they are doing you one.

Im super active in all the design communities that I post my work. Always checking peoples work out and leaving feedback/comments.
I think I need to network more with other design folks I guess. Definitely one reason Im extremely excited for school.
Thanks for the tips man.
