Anyone been to/live in Singapore?

I’m off to Singapore for a week over new years!
Does anyone have any advice on where to stay, where to go, or general milarky to get up to?

    Don’t be tempted to stay in "Little India"...bit of a hole!

    Taxis are cheap..I didn’t go to many places but one of my friends lives there so I’ll ask her about any cool stuff to do.

    I am from Singapore, need any advice?

    Places to go:
    Cheap Electronics(cameras, tvs and the like) SIM LIM SQUARE, MUSTAFA shopping Centre
    Shopping - Orchard Road, Arab Street, Club Street
    NightLife - Zouk, MOS, Clark Quay
    Food - Everywhere
    Beach - Sentosa ( More of a crowd on the weekends)

    Lol although we are in same general area (South East Asia), my country the Philippines is the farthest thing from Singapore. Everything is organized over there, my country is a chaos. Beautiful chaos!

    Singapore is cool, lots of touristy stuff. I was just there again about a month ago. If you want to shop shirts and sneakers go to Far East Plaza. If you like design/art books go to Basheer Bookstore. Definitely try the local cuisine: a mix of malay, indian, thai, chinese, indonesian! You’ll go crazy! Lots of spicy foods! My fave was Spicy Soft Crab Shell Noodles in a resto called Asian Kitchen. I also loved eating toast with butter and "kaya" (some singaporean spread/jam) at Toast Box. And don’t forget to try their local Iced Tea with milk. Another version is the Malay iced tea called "Teh Tarek"

    I wasn’t able to go to it but research on the graphic design group called Asylum. They’re pretty huge in singapore, they do a lot of great work. They also run a store selling merch/apparel/etc.

    Also, watch out for events related to the graphic design super band called Phunk Studio. World renowned design studio. They’re referred to as a rock band but instead of music, they design and do art.http://www.phunkstudio.com/phunk_folder/indexA.html

    That’s it lemme know how it goes. If you ever decide to drop by the Philippines, head straight to the beach hehe =)
