For all you printers out there. What kind of results have you had with flash curing water based inks? Would you recommend it, or suggest using a conveyor dryer? Im asking this because Im planning on buying some screen printing equipment, but Im also working with a budget so the cheapest solution would be the best for me.

we usually just print wet on wet with waterbased inks. then just toss it on the conveyor and its golden.

So do you think that a conveyor is definitely something I need to buy? Or could I get by with a flash dryer if Im just going to be doing small runs? Also what kind of conveyor are you using infrared or gas?

i managed for a long time with just a flash. but curing with a flash means long print times and your pallet can start to warp. flash dryers also have hotspots and some part of the design could not get cured all the way resulting in ink washing out after the first wash.
once i moved out here with jimmy i got to experience my first conveyor dryer. it changed my life. speeds things up. solid cure. plus it makes your shop look legit. ha

if you ever want to get into discharge printing, gas dryers are better, they provide a forced air that keeps the temperature consistent the whole way through the tunnel

i tried that. stunk up the house pretty bad.
even a cheapo conveyor is going to do what you need it for. i have seen them for 500-1000 but for quality and resale purposes you should put at least 2k into your budget for one

Do you think something like this would do the trick?

ahahaha Ive tried that too, but with plastisol. When I opened the oven door scary plastisol smoke started pouring out.
