What is the most effective way to use MySpace? (specifically for a T-shirt company)
posted 4 months ago by allsouledout
i have two clothing lines --
one is a street wear brand...
the other is a sexy edgy adult related clothing company.
here are my myspace pages:
PornRockGear -- http://www.myspace.com/pornrockgear
All Souled Out -- http://www.myspace.com/allsouledoutapparel
so,
whats the most effective way to use Myspace to promote your brand?
is it..
- groups?
- bulletins?
- fancy design of your profile page?
- adding a million friends?
im curious to know who has had success and how?

im thinking primarily the last two. john kruse was talking about a friendblaster thing a while back where he could single out people to add via a keyword in their interests or about me section, and then send friend invites to people whose profiles containted that keyword.

I started using the friend blaster pro.. its cool because i can go to like a musician with a bunch of fans that would like my stuff.. like kanye for example and it sends requests to a certain amount of people everyday.

love talking about porn...but lets keep this on topic ..
aside from a friend adder...
what works well and effective?
there are peeps on here who have info on myspace...share it!!
scapyyy said 4 months ago
if you have mac i would consider buying "spyder"
google it cause i dont have the link.
awelcomeflood said 4 months ago
ok somehow I have 500 pending outgoing requests. I dont use any adder program or anything. I guess over the past few weeks the requests added up. I think myspace hasnt sent them out because I see people online but they arent accepting my request or denying it.
I read that if you have over 250 pending requests at any time Myspace can delete your account so I am franticly deleting requests I must have sent out.
Simply Complicated said 4 months ago
they only delete it if you send more than 400 a day
awelcomeflood said 4 months ago
the most I have ever done a day is 80
it is like backed up or something because I sent it a request to one of my friends a while ago and it has shown that he has been online since after I sent the request so he must of not gotten it. I guess I can try emailing him.
Simply Complicated said 4 months ago
you ever think they just ignored it or accidentally clicked away from the page and forgot to go back..?
it happens.. once you view the page once it clears the notification
awelcomeflood said 4 months ago
ahh that could be but that would mean a ton of people have done that. If they hit deny or spam it should clear out of my inbox though right?
I see people online and nothing is happening. They are still here in pending requests.
heroes said 4 months ago
just stop spam adding
Simply Complicated said 4 months ago
but it works soooo good lol
awelcomeflood said 4 months ago
I am just canceling all of the ones that werent to people I know for know till I can figure out what myspace is doing. I messaged my friend to see if he got my request.
Randomentity said 4 months ago
myspaces code is a clusterfuck of fail.
so all of those requests could mean nothing, or it could be true, or partially true.
god i hate myspace.
awelcomeflood said 4 months ago
dont we all my friend....dont we all

Its a fine line between being annoying and sending out content that they would want to see.
The first step is to target users that would be interested in what you do. After you have users that are into what your doing I think the best way to get their attention is to send them a comment. Dont do the generic "thanks for the add". Be creative, be a real person and talk to them like a person not just a potential customer. The other thing with comments is that other users can see what you wrote so you have the potential to reach even more people.
Bulletins are also good but they get lost a lot of the time. If you have a lot of users your bulletins go off the page pretty quick. For bulletins I try and send out funny shit that I find on the internet. Since I do funny t-shirts I think people would dig that.
