BIRTH! Of a Hero

posted about 1 month ago by Nate

I was at the download festival yesterday and I noticed that the banner used to decorate the small stage was everyone's favorite font: Birth of a Hero.

Nothing like getting paid to design a big multi-city festival and using a free font. But it gets even better...

A emo dude walks up to talk to some friends with a birth of a hero type tee and stands right next to it.

It was a great moment in bad design history.

Also does the security guard look like Mr. Connery to anyone else?

i'd personally love to crucify everyone who uses birth of a hero and bleeding cowboys.

    ok maybe not that drastic...

and is that a go media cityline too? haha.

That is what I was wondering! Haha.

You know, it might be me- but I never really see Bleeding Cowboy anywhere. Maybe my eyes just glaze past it when I see it.

I don't hate this font. I don't hate avant garde. It's just every noob uses them so the work is usually shit.

Girl: Hey mitch, here's your invitation to my birthday party
Me: god dammit, why did you use bleeding cowboy?

I actually however don't mind Birth of a Hero. Overused? Yes.

That really pissed me off, you get paid to design something and you just slap free fonts everywhere,

with Sam's Club everyone thinks their a caterer

now with cool free fonts everyone thinks their a graphic artist/designer

    your metaphor does not work.

you would mean, with Sams Club everyone thinks they are a store owner.

see sams club was first created for store owners to fill their stores
