Octopus Ink Screen Printing?

posted 4 months ago by tinaATL

Does anyone know what’s up with them or have worked with them lately?
I’ve sent them an e-mail because I wanted some shirts printed but they haven’t replied in days.
I really want my shirts done soon because i NEED it by 8/17.

:-(

Any news or maybe another screen printing place suggestion?
It’s hard to find a place because i only want to print out 8-10 shirts and with 3 colors.

THANKS GUYS : )

hmmm...that’s tough i’d say. Especially with the amount of shirts youre going for. I know most printers have a min. of 25 at least.

    did you ask Jimmy?

    ya i know right?
i was gonna go find some local places, but i rly dont trust their work and most of them dont carry american apparel.

    and no i haven’t.
haha should i be asking him?

I don’t think Jimmy will do it. I recall him saying that usually he does a minimum of 12 shirts per color, so 8-10 shirts with 3 colors would be completely out of the question. I think you should consider getting your shirts printed DTG as they are more cost effective that way I think.

Come to think of it, most places don’t even offer screen printing more than 12 shirts if the design is more than 1 color.

Yeah that low number of shirts and and semi high number of colors might turn away a lot of printers . . .

edit: looks like some answered this before me already . . .

yeah, maybe Jimmy won’t do it but you can always ask. I havn’t heard great things about DTG though...I just remember Trey deuce was griping about DTG one day after the first wash.

I’d say bump up the number of shirts or just keep searching.

    8-10 three color shirts? nope.
you’d need to get at least 36 shirts for it to be worth the time to set up the job.

    wait
isnt the set up fees of a 3 colour print gonna cost like $100

not even taking min print runs into consideration

Maybe try some local places, you might have to sacrifice some quality though. If they don’t carry AA get the next best thing.

  34. "Crazy" Mike - Michael De Jesus avatar

For $100 in set up fees I was able to get 5-6 screens/colors . . . so I take it you could get away with much cheaper for a 3 color set up . . .

    im pretty sure thats normal

    for a 3 colour design

then obviously your tees are going to cost more because 10 isnt exactly wholesale quantity

    plus then the ink

i think youd be looking at closer to $200

getting shirts printed low quantity isnt cheap

your best of using one of them websites where u design your own shirt

i think i may be wrong

but to scathe a printing company as they haven’t replied to you over 8 tees seems a little harsh

The last tee I printed was also 6 colors...probably the last time I’ll print one of those.

Crazy expensive but quality was great. They printed custom tags and on AA so you figure it would be.

just go to the print shop in walmart with your AA blanks and they will heatpress your art on there for like 6 bucks each or some bullshit. it sucks but with your budget and time frame its your best bet.

octopus ink charge $26.00 per screen after the first two

they also seem the charge $1.00 for dark tee prints but then charge $.50 for light and i cant work out why they charge u for light?
