totally, i think the new header is really really good. I think scapula could stand to be a little smaller. I think the graphic attracts enough attention so that the logo doesnt need to be scaled so big.

haha anytime i hear that i think of that line in music and lyrics(dont say anything!) "she was a brilliant mimic, but stripped of all...blah blah... she was an empty shell of a writer" kinda applys here, except change she to he and writer to designer.
I like the header but the rest kinda falls apart. Tons of text and imagery going on both sides. Might be best to break it apart with some graphic dividers. You could use elements from your header--the moon, lightning, etc.
As for your themes/styles, I say its cool youre doing what youre doing at 15. I give you props for keeping your head even when everyone else is saying youre copying EZ. That means this is something youre really passionate about. Its a pain to know that someone is doing it out there already but youre keeping at it. That takes balls. Who knows you might be laughing at everyone else 10 years from now. Keep it up bro.

and yeah its just a little annoying that ever since i come on emptees all i get is bitched at about my style, when ive been doing the same exact style & feel for all my designs for almost 2 years when i started scapula back in late 2005/early 06', but whatever im not even gonna acknowledge anyone who says its "an ez rip" cause its really just annoying now. anyone whos seen some of my earlier work will know, but then again im not here to impress anyone, so if you dont like my designs, then so be it, but i seem to be doing pretty well with my company so im not even gonna bother looking at all the critism about my work.

you ask for criticism, get it, then dont want to hear it.
i never said you ripped EZ, or coppied, but at bare minimum you are HEAVILY influenced and it shows. thats not a bad thing. EZ is crazy accomplished and he is someone that you should look up to, i do too!
i like your stuff and i think you are a good dude, but dont sit here and completely deny it and say youve been doing the same thing since you were 12 and you aint changing for nobody. the friday the 13th release date thing is directly taken from EZ and it is on the header of your myspace (that you asked for criticism on) so i brought it up.
collisiontheory is right, sticking to your guns despite what people say is a good thing, but it is also good to admit shit sometimes and be big enough to say you really like something and are influenced by it.

im not going to deny it, but ALOT of the stuff he did for rockett in the earlier days was incredible, and it was a big influence for me, when i really started to take graphic design serious. I agree with you 100% hes a great dude, and what hes done for alot of bands and companies is really incrediable. i do look up to him, one day down the road i hope to be the designer that works with all these bands, cause i think his job is sweet as hell, but there is also a great deal of designers on here that i look up to and love there style, SWH you are one of those people, along with rushing, sandlin, wes allen, and obviously shantz. but even before i even came across emptees years ago, my sister was tight with the kill brand dude (idk if any of you guys know that company), and this design company called slasher. i didnt even find out about EZ till maybe a year ago, and then i reliezed he was rocketts designer by what he had in his portfolio. im working really hard to try and branch away so im not classifed with any designers on here wether its EZ or whoever, but im not going to change completely.
but if you look at my stuff from when i first started scapula, its almost the same style that i have now, except 2 years later i stopped over using death metal logos & that i know how to use photoshop alot better and im taking things to the next level.
i hate to be arrogant when this is brought up, but obviously i have to defend my case. its bad enough when you have multiple designers claiming im ripping someones style when im really not stealing anyones style.
and if you dont believe me, i designed the original version of that blob shirt in the summer of 06', when i was 13 years old. the blob was one of the first shirts i ever designed for scapula, and i just re-did it now because i thought the monster was dope and wanted to re-print it some how. hell i even started the orignal catastrophic clothing (now run by mike) in mid 05' when i was 12 years old with my sister who was a graphic design major who was a HUGE influence on me, shes probally the only reason why im even doing the things i do.
hey man, i can totally respect that. i think its sick that you are doing what you are doing at 15. take the shit anyone gives you with a grain of salt, but sometimes they arent just being dicks and giving you constructive criticism. if you end up going to school for design and have a really good professor they will rip into you so hard, you will hate them so bad, but in the end its beneficial because it makes you step back and really think about what youre doing.
what sucks is that youve kinda been beat to the punch on the horror based clothing thing, so to still do horror based stuff and been seen as fresh you have to work twice as hard to set yourself apart.

there have been and are sooooooo many horror themed clothing lines, but ez does his like he does and it works and people love it, so scapula can do it as well but just needs to differenciate a tad from ez so people want his stuff AND ez stuff.
also, yes, your university teachers will totally rip into you...luckily i just gave mine weed cookies and rum and we called it a day .
