I saw this video from spreadshirts, and noticed that they heat-transfer images.
I had always assumed companies like that used DTG. Does anyone use heat-presses for one-offs, and has the quality gotten any better recently i.e. do they still feel like iron-ons?

i use a heat press and inkjet transfer paper.
it still leaves a shadow from the paper and isnt amazing quality, but its very cheap and you can use unlimited colors.
i also use a vinyl plotter(like they used in the video) for single color stuff.
and recently we got a new dark garment transfer paper, which you can feel on the shirt like the iron ons, but this stuff stretches and is extremely durable.
the place i work is like partnered with the guy who invented the process of transfering ink into cotton.(which was thought to be impossible)
