Do you think this design is a rip?

So a bunch of years ago I designed a shirt for Stutterfly on Maverick Records for their T-Shirt contest. I will never do a contest again because of this.

This is the original shirt idea I sent to them.

A few months later they came out with this CD:

I know it looks different and all, and I actually think their design looks better than mine but its the concept.

   well, it wouldn’t be a rip if the contest was “who can draw us a girl with a tree for boobs better” ... but obviously that’s not what it was. Damn, I actually used to like this band.

   Why don’t you figure out who did the design, and see if they came up with the idea, or got it as direction from the band?

   That would surely solve it.

   yeah, its entirely possible the guy who designed it never saw yours but was told from the band they wanted something with flowers coming out of her stomach.

    I contacted the band after the CD was released and they stated they never saw the design and they had another designer design the CD packaging.

    i was thinking that was the shirt you were talking about … i actually owned that urban outfitters shirt years and years ago, haha.

    that’s so frustrating. i never really realized how often people’s designs get ripped off of until i came to this site.

    no they steal alot of stuff, someone posted a website on a different thread and it pointed out a host of shit urban stole, when i looked for it on google that was the only thing i found though, there is so much more, someone help me out?

    haha i was on that urbancounterfeit thing and i really like that take a chill pill shirt and it reminded me of buffy the vampire slayer, i was just watching the movie at my friends appartment a couple days ago and the girl was like ‘take a chill lozenge’ haha
