Personal portfolio site

posted 11 months ago by jfinley

I finally put up a personal portfolio site. I’ve been meaning to forever, but I just never had time. I had all sorts of ambitious ideas about making some interactive flash gimmicky site. But I went pretty straightforward with it.

The most important thing for me was to put a site online where I could send people who want to know what specifically I’ve done. Rather than guessing what I did on the Go Media site.

So here is the link:

http://www.jefffinley.org

Let me know how it works in your browser. I’m still tweaking things.

looks good. i didnt realize you knew the guys in wilhelm scream. ray told me last night you did some of their shirts. good stuff. the rejected designs are amazing, but im guessing it would have to be done with sublimation for those and maybe thats why they rejected?

    Cinema 4D is garbage.

    3D Studio Max.

What. I would say for animation Maya takes the cake but Cinema is by far the easiest to learn and has a very fast renderer that makes your stuff look good. I might be biased though since I use to work for them.

Yeah I use 3D Studio Max for all my 3D. I used Maya in college, but never enough to be comfortable in it. Max is what I’m comfortable in. C4D I never gave a chance.

In IE, the entire page scrolls, because it doesn’t support “postion: fixed” – so that menu on the left, it’s supposed to stay put in Firefox, but scroll in IE.

Since the menu is fixed in Firefox, your screen resolution isn’t large enough to see the whole thing. I could reduce some of the linkage in the menu, or just leave it since most designers use higher res display settings.

AWESOME Work! I kinda chuckled when reading the descriptions though and counted the number of “rejected” But hey, that’s part of being a designer. You love your work and they reject most of it.

Yeah, mylkhead is old though. It’s my portfolio up from 2000-2005. But since I joined Go Media, I stopped updating it. I keep it up for nostalgic purposes.

    Legit portfolio!
It is upsetting to see the notes saying some of the pieces were rejected. All the art is amazing.
