In the next few weeks, I'm going to be starting on a book for a band. It's going to be roughly 40 pages. I'll be laying out the entire thing, placing pictures and text. I'm stoked because I've never done a full size, hardcover, book before. Only multiple page cd booklets and such.
Have any of you ever done a book before? Anything I should be sure to do or expect to come up? What problems/snags have you hit?
Thanks!

ive done 40 page catalogs before in indesign. Utilizing master pages, character and paragraph styles help out work flow a lot.
Also i think there is a way for indesign to output print ready spreads, but i never trust that it wont screw something up if, so i always make a mockup and move the pages around manually.

Yea I done like two books so far, its mostly based on what you and the band think goes and placement with how much they want on a one page some people don't like to much gaps cause it cost more when printing
