Big Cartel grrrrrrr

posted 5 months ago by i came from nothing

Hi there is it just me....

I waste hours each day, trying up update the store, the admin section times out all the time.

I change items add pics etc ( time out ), try to save once i get the pic uploaded ( time out ) - then need to do it all again.

Then the when checking as a customer it times out and dosent show up. This is on 2 PCs and a laptop on two separate 8gig broadband connections.

Have a look for me www.icamefromnothing.com

I cant get into my admin or see the store??? This is a daily event. And I am using a 2nd level paid for store.

At the same time I check about 20 other sites ( no problem there ) !!!!!!!!!

It’s because you’re using a frameset and many browsers can’t maintain cookies in a frameset. We warn people from using this in several places:

    http://help.bigcartel.com/design/can-i-load-my-store-in-a-frame/
    http://blog.bigcartel.com/articles/3-important-tips-for-your-store/
    http://help.bigcartel.com/store/how-do-i-use-my-own-domain/

That last link also explains how to properly setup your domain, since that is most likely what created the frameset.

Also, please contact Big Cartel support any time you have problems like this. We could have helped you right away and prevented your frustration.

    Sure dude.

The only problem is that I cant even get these links to loadup.

Even access to my admin section only gives me about 10min access in an hour, Ive aslo tried to look at other Big Cartel sites - Messups store and the support page, no joy.. :-(

Sorry but I cant even see this http://www.bigcartel.com/

Then I’m not sure what the problem is. We haven’t had anyone else report this issue, and the site is loading fine from all of our tests.

If you’d like I can look into it a bit further. Please email us at" SUPPORT at BIGCARTEL dot COM" any error messages you’re seeing, or any other info you think could help. Like what browsers you’ve tried, etc.

    I’d recommend flushing your dns on your computer, if your on windows;

    Start
    Run
    Type "CMD"
    Type "ipconfig /flushdns"

I’d also check your routing table using the command "tracert www.bigcartel.com" and send that information to matt.

I don’t run Vista, but is it possible to switch your start menu to the Classic view? If so, then you will have the Run selection on it.
