Alternatives to Myspace.

posted 5 months ago by mevett

There are so many scattered across posts it seems, but what’s everyones favorite social networking site.

I used Myspace for my design page and what not and kept a personal one for friends, but i’m kinda getting tired of the constant additions and pointless problems. So i’m ditching the site and hoping for a new home to waste time on besides Facebook.

I know of Virb, anyone know any others that are halfway decent?

EDIT: Favorite websites to spend time on are a plus!

Ryan You’re chatting with your friends, you’re talking about the latest music, about the election, all of it is happening in our virtual paper store.

Jim And then an older gentleman asks you "Boxers or briefs"?

That person in the video clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about. MySpace is pointed towards music, and Facebook was started off as a university networking site. That’s like calling Emptees and MSN the same because you can talk to friends on them both...

They started out as two different things.
At this point they are pretty much exactly the same.

myspace was originally a file sharing/ hosting site.

facebook was originally a college networking site ( tru ) but neither of them are that now.

facebook is overrun with crap, and invites. ruining thier " clean " apple-esque layout.

myspace wasn’t ever really " aimed " at music, i was considered an " early adopter " when the switched from file hosting to social networking, it just became an obvious choice to include band pages and music.

does anyone remember when you couldnt " add music to your page " without an html code? what about only having a " top eight " or back when the only way to change the look of your page was " toms myspace editor "

they are the same now, they offer the same things.

I use myspace more, for the level or originality it allows with the customizing of a site.
