Point out why his print job is the worst thing ever put on this planet (professionally of course), and that you cannot accept these shirts because they don't meet the minimum quality requirements of a silkscreened shirt. Then wait for what he says. If he understands and offers a refund, give him back the shirts (and you've already cancelled the check so that's that). If he tries to wiggle out of it, again just repeat that the shirts do not meet agreed upon requirements (color, size, frickin flipped orientation!!!) and that they are unacceptable. Remember, the check has been cancelled...the ball is in his court to take it further if he wants. If he threatens to sue, let him...and then THAT'S when you threaten to go to the Better Business Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce, etc. And if nothing else your brother is a lawyer :) But at the end of today, you have your money and he has his shitty shirts. Did you sign any type of waiver saying that you accepted the shirts before you left the store? If so, and the company you're dealing with isn't very nice, you will probably end up eating the costs. If not, I would calmly take the shirts back into the store, as suggested above, keep one of each for yourself for evidence, and let the printer know what happened. The only reason I can see you not getting a refund or a new print job would be because you did look at the shirts before you left and you basically gave an oral "Okay" by accepting them. Good luck. I'm not an aggressive guy either when it comes to dealing with people. But just be frank about how disappointed you are and how unacceptable the product is.
