Mindless Self Indulgence (just fucking loud, energetic, and the pit was like a melting pot of hardcore dudes, gay punks, goths, and everything else)
Le Tigre (I couldnt stop dancing for like a week afterwards)
My Chemical Romance (if for nothing else that Gerard Way has awesome stage presence)
Pet Shop Boys (because its the fucking Pet Shop Boys)
Im thinking of busting out a few hundo to catch the Police and Elvis Costello sometime in August with the lady - shes like Earths Mightiest Elvis Costello Fan (shhhhh, its a secret! good thing that sucker dont read emptees!).

my seventh grade english teacher almost took me to a le tigre show ... almost. i still havent seen them :(
devil driver opened for them, there was a wall of death, a GIANT circle pit ... and the pit pretty much turned in to a slip and slide by the time gwar started spewing blood everywhere ... oh and they cut michael jacksons dick off on stage.
Deftones are a close second, I never imagined theyd be so amazing live ... chino can really work a crowd.
Ive seen the blood brothers more times then I can count at their home venue the redmond firehouse ... as well as other venues in the seattle area, really cool guys, I wish I could find the first shirt I bought from 'em ... their moms made them with iron-ons!
the last show i went to was pretty intense. Evergreen Terrace and Misery Signals opened up for As I lay Dying and every band was worth crowding the pit for... plus being part of the emptees scene now, I saw so many people wearing stuff from people on here! most notably horsebites rockett design that RULED! oh, and i bought a 3 dollar rockett beer coozie from misery signals :D

Belle & Sebastian, seriously. I am not even a huge fan of theirs and I ended up going to see them for on a whim for free in Battery Park July 4th of '07, got there and asked around for tickets, (you had to wait in line for hours at starbucks locations like a month ahead) got one for free within about 3 minutes, it was just a ridiculous great and fun show with great friends, got out at dusk, went and watched the fire works from a roof top on the upper east side drinking forties all night, and from the roof you could see like 10 different fire works shows going off. Just an epic epic day
faith no more on the angel dust tour
soundgarden (superunknown tour)
fugazi
deftones
house of pain/funkdoobiest/cypress hill (soul assasins tour)
Ice-T and Butthole Surfers!!!
sepultura
and loads more
but the best show had to be New Kingdom or Electric Wizard- maybe coz I smoked the heaviest shit ever- and it made it unreal...I thought my heart kept stopping - check:
best live bands ive seen... at the drive in, wesley willis, atom and his package, murder city devils, andrew wk, the lawrence arms, and im sure im forgetting plenty.
robolove said: Blink 182, New Found Glory, We Are Scientists and Bloc Party are all amazing live.
Really want to see Jimmy Eat World, The Cure and Beastie Boys.
I saw NFG once ... I couldnt stand them, that guys voice is just way too sharp on stage ... but finch opened for them, so it was a great night!
I also forgot to mention that I saw The Donnas last month ... and they opened up for the Hives! The hives fucking rock live ... and their lead singer looks like a miniature scott bacula which only adds to the experience ... I stayed a good 45 minutes after the show to watch security fish people off the ceiling light racks ... it was nuts!
Even though i hate to say it, Guns N Roses/Kaiser Chiefs have put on the best live shows i have ever seen, though i have the police (with sting) coming up next week, so i recon i can probably top it!

Yeah, they are absolutely great live. Last time I saw them, they had two encores.
I saw Silverstein, From Autumn To Ashes, and Dance Gavin Dance [When they still had Johnny]
Silverstein and FATA were beyond amazing. Both of their stage presences were beyond believable. They worked the crowd perfectly, and there was so much energy. Ive never heard so many people actually screaming the SCREAMED lyrics of a band.
Its also the only show Ive been to where it was still packed at the end of the show.
Story of the Year does an incredible show also. Flips, climbing speakers, etc.
But, best of all, is anything with Craig Mabbitt. [ETF, TWA, old BTF]. His energy is... well, I dont believe it. Jumping 40 ft into a crowd. That takes guts. And, his vocals are perfect live.
saves the day, hands down, will forever be the greatest.
sigur ros was insanely amazing.. very moving and i was covered in goose bumps the entire time.
monty are i have so much energy and i love seeing untraditional instruments on stage.
modest mouse was spot on.. and i had seen them on a late night show once and they blew balls, so i went in very skeptical.
say anything is just so good.. max bemis is perfect live.
and there are tons more.. coheed and cambria, motion city soundtrack, as cities burn, mates of state, blah blah blah.
the only band that ever really let me down was circa survive. anthony green was on some serious drugs that night and jumped out in the crowd and got in a fight. it was amusing, but he couldnt remember any of his lyrics.
also.. im seeing death cab this weekend. i am already thinking theyll make this list.

Alkaline Trio 2 years ago when they let their fan club pick their set list. They played the entire goddammit cd, every acoustic song, all old music, like 3 new songs, a couple hot water music covers and ended with radio.

agreed! we interviewed them after a show in detroit last summer and they were completely wasted and beyond hilarious. our tapes ran out but the party kept rolling. so nice and we were seriously crying with laughter the entire time. plus they did a little acoustic performance for us in front of the venue and it was just so good. super talented guys!

monty are i! i remember that one song by them, In This Legacy. that was a sweeeeeeet song, made me want to save the world and stuff.
but best live bands? a wilhelm scream was awesome, maybe im biased because i love them, though. i saw August Burns Red last week, not really my type of music, but they were pretty good. The Human Abstract was ridiculous. seeing Goldfinger this month and i dont plan on being disappointed!
BUT THIS SEPTEMBER! New Found Glory, The ISHC, and Four Year Strong! AWESOME!
