I've passed on a few companies that wanted to buy my shirts wholesale in the past, but now I'm interested in selling to a company from Japan. I'm not very familiar with wholesale and I'm curious how much of a discount I should give when I sell wholesale? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks guys!
UPDATE - What's the minimum number of shirts you guys will sell for the company to get wholesale prices? I'm totally a noob when it comes to wholesale, so I really appreciate you guys helping out!

Also, when discussing the pricing to the company, should I just say double the production cost? Or just give them the price?

Just give them the price. You want to make whats called a line sheet and a look book. Have your line laid out with the wholesale prices.

usually you make a wholesale catalog and have each of your shirts with specs and available sizes and wholesale price. it would have minimum orders and quantity discounts. jimmy has a nice one.

If so, that doesn't have any wholesale prices on it. Do you recommend that people put those prices on it?

he probably had a page at the end of the catalog that was a price sheet.

I'm kind of hung over (I was out drinking and singing karaoke in NYC, and then had a two hour train ride home), but if you want any advice feel free to email me (david@seibei.com). I'm too tired to really read through what people have said here, but I think they've got it - double your production cost to make your wholesale price, which stores will then double (at least) when they put it on the floor.

I do 50% - 60% my retail price. If the shirt's retail is $20, it's wholesale price is $10-$12 depending on who I'm selling to and what the quantity is.
