belts - an offer for all

posted about 1 year ago by {miles to go}

hey guys.

i dont mean to be soliciting in any way, but tis the season for deals. so, if anyone on this board wants belts done i will give you all a discount. depending on how many you get ill knock off some dough, especially in the smaller orders. ill try to get at least 50 cents off each belt and work out some kind of deal.

you can switch up as many buckle designs as you want and its the same cost. this is a deal for people on this board only, just mention it.

check out some belts to see samples, etc

-greg

ps. i should just add and not in a mean kind of way, but this offer is mostly for the people on emptees that contribute and are part of the grander picture....which i might add is most of us. ive been getting emails about this offer from people ive never seen on here and its cool and i will still give a break for sure but im trying to give back to a community thats thankfully been very supporting and offer up what i can to help out in return.

i think i might take you up on this.. i’ve never sold anything besides t-shirts. do belts sell well? how would i go about designing for a belt? (dimensions)

  11. {miles to go} - greg kerr avatar

    {miles to go} said 12 months ago

the size info is in my faq section http://www.milestogobelts.com/faq.html

i kinda like simple, straight forward buckles because the size is small, but theres pics of tons of previous jobs to check out.

i guess do belts sell well is in relation to how cool you make the design and how much you sell of your stuff anyway. i have some clients who will buy 500 every 2 months and some who buy 24 every couple months as well. i know back in the day jimmy was selling tons of belts with the old trashcan image and never surrender.

after an email, i realized this might not be too clear. buckles can be full color, doesnt matter in pricing.

example of $4 belt w/ blank fabric.

example of $4.745 for single print

    hope that helps.

Will most certinaly be in touch about this, I took a look at your site and saw some nice things. How elaborate can you make these belts? Do you mind giving us an example of some of the fancy belts?.. Just to give everyone an idea of how individual these can be. Im totally excited about getting a move on with all kinds of belts, and the price looks right as well.

  29. {miles to go} - greg kerr avatar

    {miles to go} said 11 months ago

by fancy belts do you mean the die cast ones? i dont really do those anymore but will pass on the info of the place that did those if youd like. i work with tons of smaller bands and companies and those things are expensive unless you want close to 100 of each design which most people dont.

as for silkscreening, its mostly one color stuff, the belts dont really stay like a shirt does while printing and close registration of a multiple color would be way too hard. the fabric is really textured and hard to do thin lines and halftones cant be done really.

I wouldn’t mind seeing 'Nevermore' on the buckle. And really just having the strap say 'Godmachine' would be awesome.

P.S. where did your design from earlier go? I wanted to look at it more.

michael shantz said: so how much for 100 ?

    check out http://www.milestogobelts.com/prices.html

i send them in a regular 6x9 envelope and i cut a little piece of bubble tape that i wrap around the buckle. they weigh 4 oz to mail one to someone if that helps.

to godmachine: on average, posting overseas seems to add about $1 to your cost per belt, but euros are worth way more, so that might not seem like much anyway.

yeah, i did an interview with ian maybe 3 yrs ago forr a magazine called wonka vision. i had contacted him because revelation records wanted me to make minor threat belts and i offered to make them and donate 100% of the profits to a local charity around me or in DC. he asked the guys in the band and by way of that i got to talk to brain baker and kevin seconds somehow too! fugazi is my fav band ever and i interviewed him about business ethics and such, not really about music.

i got to meet him a few times and an old band of mine toured with someone on dischord so when we were in dc we went to the label and ians grandmas house was across the street (salad days house) so we took pics in front.

and yes, the deal is on going..........hit me up.

  72. {miles to go} - greg kerr avatar

i dont do leather belts because for bands and some clothing companies it doesnt make sense really. one, they are expensive and more importantly youd have to stock so many different sizes, like if you did shoes, etc. the fabric ones fit most people and they can adjust it. from an on the road side of it, its easier.

i stopped doing the cast buckles but could tell you a place that does some. too much of a pain in the butt because they are kinda expensive and 98% of people dont follow through getting them.

hey chris. just check out http://www.milestogobelts.com
