I'd pay for an Emptees coffee table book! get Frenden, jimiyo, godmachine, derek deal, Rushing, justgeoff, finley, exploding toes, itschrees, EZ, sitting duck, some paintings buy mitchbones, some collisiontheory, some gameyy....just a few of my favorite things...in other words YES. Get it done.

Someone should just donate time and put it together through Lulu. I got a book off there a few months ago and the quality is really great. $0 over head.

If i did my above idea I think it would be cool to have a theme and have the artist design something around the theme...as well as have interviews with the artists.

Ok well its set then, I think I will put something together if everything works out. Im not sure I would make it officially for emptees or only emptees artists.
I have been here pretty much since emptees started so I know the awesome artists and I def. know whats up around here. I would like to hear more thoughts from you guys though!

Id like to hear more input on the Themed book idea, it would be cool to have an emptees book with things posted here but I think it would be more bad ass to have a theme and participating artists doing original art for the book, and then maybe there is a way to sell prints along with the book and the artists can make profit.

I think the site works good enough for that but others may feel different.
If it is something a lot of time and potentially one goes into then I think it should be a little more involved then just emptees based (not that emptees isnt awesome).

yeah I kind of want to go ahead and make an executive decision and shoot for that. I will wait and get some more feed back but I think if its done right it could be epic, and great for the artists involved.

Thats a good idea...I am thinking a book with original art and bio/interviews with the artists. Limited Edition shirts to go along with the art and available prints of the art as well. It could turn out to be the most intense thing ever!

This sounds like a dope idea. You could also consider doing it through blurb.com. They seem to be catered more for the artists. What about a book with just shirt designs? I'd buy books with Finley's stuff, jimiyo's, but would also love to see works on it from the up and comers.

Yeah, I've used Lulu before - the books came out great.
Hard cover, everything.
Now if we can get like 100 people to submit designs and stuff, we can have an emptees book!

So is that a no go for the themed book with bio/interviews of the artists? I love emptees but I was kind of looking for a project to work on that I could market towards the crowd here but also be separate and able to expand if it took off in another direction.

Well thats the thing, I have an idea for a great book that isnt entirely emptees related and may not be able to do it now if someone else decides to do a version of it because I made a post. I kind of wish I hadn't posted anything and just decided to go for it on my own.
To be honest I have been working on it for a while not planning on mentioning but I figured if I brought it up like it was something new I could get good feedback on it.

i think you should still come out with a book, and if any empteers want to be a part of it, sweet. Matt and Eric could still come out with an official Emptees Coffee Table Book.

That is most likely what will happen but I also don't want there to be any conflict of interest. Im sure it will work out, mine will take a while anyway because there is more planning and actual content so I will be getting it edited all that good stuff.
