BTW, there's a new horror blog called Hack Slash Dead, for all you horror enthusiasts.
hmm.. ironically, the thing i liked about it was that, for the most part it really
wasn't that cliche. of course certain aspects of it were, but unlike most horror
films, i didn't feel like i knew exactly what was going to happen next.
seriously, it seems absolutely impossible these days to find a genuinely scary
horror movie playing in theatres, but this no doubt scared the crap out of me.
the way they used music, silence, and just sound in general kept me in a little
ball on the edge of my seat the entire time. i'm sure there will be those who
won't like it, but i thought it was a breath of fresh air.
thank god. i haven't seen a good scary/thriller in a while. My girlfriend and I love going to scary movies on dates, and lately we've been leaving disappointed. We'll have to go check it out.

Good review, I'm sure my wife and I will be seeing it this weekend.
On a somewhat related note, I re-watched Hostel last weekend because FearNet has it on demand. I never realized how the second half of that movie is basically a gory Indiana Jones sequence.
haha! Hostel was a really great, underrated flick. The small little things really made it..like pulp fiction overdubbed on TV when they get to the hostel(qt presents.)
I saw it last night and it was pretty good. It would have been better if there weren't 13 year old girls in there screaming at every tiny thing as loud and as long as they could.

seriously...except mine were drunk grown-ass marines. I would have been that much more scared if I watched it at home. Those eerie moments of silence someone mentioned were sort of n/a in the theater where I saw it. Yea, we get it dude, that last scene made you jump and scream out loud -- feel free to hold off on the shouted "That scared the crap out of me! You too?!?" comments until after the movie is over. Still bitter, ha.
