Hi there im just in the middle of setting up a comprehensive directory for creative people around the world, for manufacturers of all the items a fashion/band/tee shirt company might require.
Im on 30+ forums everyday and see the same questions over and over, so Im trying to put a stop to them, with one easy answer www.creativedirectory101.com © ™

I will try to have quite a cross section of items and locations ( world wide ).
The there will aslo be a section for clothing labels.
I will try to vet all the manufacturers and get the best quality companies: there listing will be paid for permeant adverts ( there will be a 3 tier payment plan - from basic to full listing including interviewa and multiple pics).
The top tier costs wold be $100.
All the labels/designers on this site would get a 50% discount.

The first 10 labels/designers to apply will get a FREE listing.

are you doing this by yourself?
this is gonna need a semi-deep back end system if it will have all of the functionality youre seeking (handling listings, ad rotation, unique users, etc).
hope you know some php/sql!

Hi there all the coding is getting done for me.
But at first I will be using a customised wordpress format, that also lets people comment on the various sites, but not actualy post threads.

Ive spent nearly the last year getting my tee line setup and found nothing like this, various asian and indian directories that are cheap and nasty sites, that look 100% doggy, they dont cover all the items I would want added, only wholesale garments and tat.

Because I just checked and you do not even own the domain yet...You might want to jump on that soon because people can see that you are starting this, go buy the design and then you would have to buy it from them.

I paid for the domain 2 hours ago - TM is used next to any item with out any lawyers involvment, and TM will be setup asap next week
I purchased a 2 year domian and hosting pack.
As it sunday and paid with credit card its still to be confirmd 100%.

Hosting is now sorted and ready, now gonna start buy installing wordpress and setting up the style sheet etc.
But I laso need to spend the next few weeks on good design for my label, all new hand drawn and painted illustrations.

I don't know if you can do this or not but if there was one page with a link to every submission page for all the sites so that I could have one place to go to check what the file dimensions are and prep my file for multisite maddness.
or even a pdf type deal with the site name and submission details, number of colors, file dimensions, number of files, thumbs yes or no that kind of thing.

Me Jimiyo and a few other (sorry for not name droping others) do what I call the shirt circuit (submit to every $$ site we can find) It can be a hassle to prep a file for multiple sites without haveing a blog or something with everything right there. I have been useing

but I don't want to go to every site to check specs I want to do all of my prep in one go from illustrator. So a list of site specs would really help. I can do this myself but I'm lazy and I thought that it would fit into you're project.

yeah how about some dot gov stuff. Like legal info if you ever need a lawyer or local licenses, DBA vs LLC that kind of thing.

I used alphashirt really fast trun around great deals and no hassle.
a vender must have checklist. Things you need to sell in the real world.

Design competitions and labels actively seeking submissions should be two separate listing under one parent, maybe. http://compete-tee-tion.blogspot.com/ and http://funkyduds.blogspot.com/ both have great lists of tons of both in their respective sidebars.

You really really really need to update your tags on every entry and keep them consistent. Just now, I tried to find all the DTG printers in your directory, but that's not possible because you've only tagged one entry as 'DTG' and 'Direct to Garment'. Tags are good for SEO as well, so you should be doing it for yourself as well as your visitors.
