You came on emptees and asked which design contest is the best? I’m going to have to go with the Tee Off

from what i’ve heard, design by humans. not only they accept one shirt a day but if you win, shirt.woot will probably contact you and want to design for them. its a double win. again thats what ive heard...

    try them all out

    threadless
    designed by humans
    woot
    uneetee

they all have there pros and cons.

Threadless is the hardest bunch to win IMO. You really got to study what the voters want.

Most of the designs posted here at Emptees seems very suitable for Design By Humans.

I haven’t spent much time on Woot, but I guess their audience are similar to Threadless. So you might want to put some puns/jokes onto your design.

I was thinking that but the guys at threadless seem pretty chill, if the design doesnt work I can take the design off and put it somewhere else... might as well start of with the contest that offers up 2k

which pro and cons have threadless?

  13. herman - Herman avatar

shirtfilms said: which pro and cons have threadless?

    Pros:
    - 2000 Cash with $500 store credit
    - Most popular design comp. More people will see your design and come to your website
    - Sometimes it is a nice to place to chill at their blog/forums
    - Cool people working for Threadless. You can interact with them at their blog forums

    Cons:
    - Hard to win
    - Most winning designs consist of puns/jokes/cutesy elements of some sorts. So you might consider having those elements in your designs to satisfy the voters
    - lots of emo kids.

You technically can’t submit your design to another contest after submitting it to Threadless until 90 (60?) days after scoring has completed.

that’s true I usually wait it out till the 90 days r up but if you get antsee you can e-mail them and get it released before the 90 days is up.

yeah DBH still hasn’t paid me despite my emails. I can’t find a number to call. This makes me sad. And I’m not sure who to contact about this. Has anyone encountered this? I feel like kind of a bitch posting this on a message board but for real. It’s not like they owe me $20 or something

That happened to me but payment was delayed around 2 weeks after they printed my shirt.

Isn’t that sort of bullshit though? I’ve sent about six emails this week and they won’t even give me a response and say "hey sorry, we’ll pay you this day?" When you say you’re going to pay someone within a certain amount of time, as a business, you do it. Or you hug and kiss and apologize to who you owe and tell them when you pay them. Not leave them in the dark to gripe about it on message boards

Yeah. And my shirts been up for sale for 11 days now? It just is disheartening cause I was real pumped about DBH and now it makes me want to use other contests, I just hope they email me back today
