The Official Manticore Thread

I was waiting for Godmachine to do this, but with so many rips happening every week, I figured the sooner the better.

History

The Manticores (an abbreviation for "The West Side Mordor Manticores"), are a cyber gang of artists' rights vigilantes based on Emptees. Their primary concern is exposing design thievery, be it on shirts, websites, myspace profiles, or anything else wherein the original artist goes uncredited.

They were originally formed a few months ago by Godmachine, who subsequently designed their official (though yet to be printed) shirt:

Structure

Rather than a employing a hierarchal structure, the Manticores operate as a group of "freelancing" gangsters to expose their victims. While different members may have special titles, these are in name only and denote no real rank within the society.

Medallion

A few days ago, in an effort to unite during mobs against thieves on sites outside of Emptees, I created this medal (to be added to the profile or avatar of any Manticore members):

Much like an affiliating article of clothing or specific gang color, the Manticore medallion exists to strike fear and recognition into those who behold their attacks. The medallion is only for use by those who have been involved in said attacks.

Mantra

The Manticores also have a mantra that can be spoken or sung in the comments to those whom they expose:

Looking for rip offs
From Emptees we spawned
Spying and watching
From dusk until dawn

We know where you’re lurking
We know where you’ve been

   for the sake of a speedy attack use lol cats, This I speculate is why perps gravitate toward the html free waters of dbh, The Westside Mordore Manticores. In the of battle of Crown (screen caps comeing soon) had to improvise with avatar adjustments seen below I am the black mordore, Directions: pick a color make a maskvatar, for easy of use have a 65x50 (Dbh) on file ready for use or what ever size the perp site requires.
   
   I would like to add that despite my best efforts no physical harm has ever been done by the mordores, we are people to so not without mercy kinda, a verbal spanking by online peers, in public comment sections are fair game and better than loseing your (the perps) loved ones and belongings after loseing a court battle for ip crime.

   Which thanks to holes in the patriot act is actually considered domestic terrorism, hmm Modrores vs U.S. department of Justice, gitmo doesn’t, serve jello, just saying.(Edit: I don’t know if thats true but If I were a perp it would scare me straight, I can’t live without jello)

    I’m sure pure buttons would help if you ask nice maybe (crossed fingers) I would chip in if anyone wants to do that. I got the template set up already, and I like how it went from jackets to buttons. stickers would be cool to and I have a new marks a lot just dripping for skribbles.     I tryed mine out yesterday, and it felt really good, something like eeeeeeeiiiiooooo and sometimes yyyyyyy woop woop.
    oh and I noticed that the medals are gray (like silver) maybe we can have (orange) bronze and (yellow) gold and platinum can be like a star, and ribbon.
    I think everyone needs to make a coat of harms. This should include name, weapon and Westside Mordore manticores somewhere. And be made in under 20 mins in photoshop, slobby counts, it’s all about speed. GO!!

    i talked to godmachine about this a couple days ago and he said that the cost of shipping it to the UK then shipping it back here would kill the price of the shirt. so if the printer could ship them to everyone individually i think itd work.

    That’s my regular workflow, dude. One-off orders and stuff.

    If that didn’t make sense - It’s not a big deal for me to mail them out individually. The post office lady already hates me.

    Ok this is important, I have to do a movie poster for my photoshop class (highschool) and I was wondering if anyone minds I "take" the manticore medal/logo and history/description and use those as the poster (along with other elements of my own ofcourse)

    Basically I have to pass in a couple paragraphs describing the movie and poster and such.

    Also I could put everyones name as a character and or designer / producer / editor... if you want.

    Im not trying to get out of a project easily I just thought it was an amazing idea and I would love to do it..

The Manticores also have a mantra that can be spoken or sung in the comments to those whom they expose: Looking for rip offs From Emptees we spawned Spying and watching From dusk until dawn We know where you’re lurking We know where you’ve been Mordor Manticores Unite for the win!
