Im doing my first event in July for a small town fair called The 28th Annual Newberg Old Fashioned Day Fesival. Its a churchy town and Home to George Fox University, So Im expecting a mix between bored tweenagers and old church ladys. You can see the design here
http://www.emptees.com/tees/3307-george-fox
Im getting 100 shirts done on sand colored shirts, kinda light tanish.
50 small 25 medium and 25 large.
Here is the quote I got from the company, Do you think its a good deal (keep in mind its local so I dont have to pay shipping)
Your quote for 100 sand color Ts are as fallows,
We have a 25.00 set up screen cost per color,
If we supplied the shirts for you
One color, one location 5.50 per shirt
Two color, 6.00 per shirt
Three color, 6.50 per shirt
If you supplied the shirts
One color, one location 2.50 per shirt
Two color, 3.00
Three color, 3.50
so I guess they only do up to three colors and placement is center of chest dtg style.
Its 5.50 per shirt +25.oo for the screen cost so $575.oo should I go with a larger order the 5.50 per is the same no matter how large the order is.
So I dont know if I should supply my own shirts or just stick with them it sounds fair and again no shiping cost. Thoughts anyone. Im just a poor startout guy so this is big for me. I really think the church crowd will like the design, and at my still level its the best one color I can come up with.

I know UPS ground on 50 shirts is usually in the $12-$15 range. I think you should shop around a bit.
However Im all about supporting local business.
quakerninja said 6 months ago
good call
I checked blank shirts dot com and I can get Jerzees Preshrunk 100% Cotton 5.6oz. T-Shirt
for $148.00 plus the print cost of $275 so $423
I cant wait till July Im exited already, any tips on things I should know now to prepare, Im trying to keep it simple so cash only, $20.00 shirts no return, Are free goodies a good idea I was thinking of getting some pure buttons done up. How about some artsy business cards?
Im green as home grown weed when it comes to this stuff.

alphashirt.com
not for this round, but in the future... if you are looking for shirts.
generally its good to front the money for the shirts yourself, otherwise most printers do up to a 30% markup on the shirts.
quakerninja said 6 months ago
Hay thanks Jimiyo, I just set up my account and am checking it out now. This post has already saved me at least $100 bucks I love emptees.
quakerninja said 6 months ago

quakerninja said 6 months ago
got the shirts from alphashirt and Im working on the final artwork design, I need some feedback on what font to go with, the top is based on the George Fox University Logo, the comp on the bottom of the page is 2 gothic looking fonts.

Thanks
jimiyo said 6 months ago
sweet bro. so alpha shirt was good?
they are pretty fast delivery too usually. i started buying blanks for myself. stuff is CHEAP!
if you get into it, sometimes there are polos for less than $3. good for limited edition crap.
i think the font on the v2 is fine. the other ones are hard to read... and for the fohgies that are buying it... if you think they want gothic sure...
good luck on the sales.
quakerninja said 6 months ago
Yeah Alpha is great, thanks for the hook up. Ill go with the University tie in so I can up my chances of selling any leftovers.
heavyprints said 6 months ago
I hope they sell well for you dude. Youve definitely put up with a bunch of shit, and come a long way with your designs.
quakerninja said 6 months ago

Birdie3431 said 6 months ago
haha you should have made a limited quantity version of the shirt that says "geroge fux" and just claimed it was a misprint. then you could sell those to the bored teenagers for jacked up prices!
quakerninja said 6 months ago

Howd it go
quakerninja said 5 months ago
I have sold a few to friends and mom. I got my dba license and my vender pass. so now Im just waiting till the first Saturday of June. I have to get a 10x10 tarp and a sign made any advise on stuff I should need would help.
andrE w. said 5 months ago
im not sure how hot it is, but dont forget to bring water, haha
i think thats the most important thing
if youre well hydrated youll be energized enough to push them shirts
quakerninja said 5 months ago
oh yeah good idea. Its going to be from the wee hours of 8a to 2p Id be cooked without emptees. oh and for merch bags should I go cheap ass or spend for something cool like a newsprint bag?
Joe said 5 months ago
Bring stuff to write on! And write with. And business cards? And stuff to give out (or sell for cheap) like stickers/buttons (I saw you got buttons)! And bring at least one person with you to help you. Try to keep all the shirts organized by size to make it easier for you. Shouldnt be too bad with only one size. Bring a small display with the price of the shirts (a little stand-up dealy or something).
Not only water, but food. Food is pretty important. And if theyre not going to give you a chair, a folding chair for sitting on, because standing all day can be pretty tiring.
And maybe one of those receipt books that you can get at Office Depot or the like for giving receipts and keeping good records of your sales.
quakerninja said 2 months ago
Thanks for all the help, its finaly time, Ill get some better pics later.

The event is this Thursday 24th-sunday 27th The car is all packed and ready.

quakerninja said 2 months ago
oh yeah its going to my head, Ill try not to be an asshole.
gaunty said 2 months ago
You know it will! Haha. You´re not an asshole.......yet. Good luck dude, love the banner!
Ameeee said 2 months ago
Good luck man! Now I can apologise for the retard AIM conversation I had with you regarding your first show which I had already thought had happened. I am sorry for my inability to read things! Im so happeeeeee for you son!
quakerninja said 2 months ago
Day one is finished, sales= a big fat zero. oh well 3 days to go. Heres my setup.
heavyprints said 2 months ago
It looks really nice man. You have done an awesome job so far.
landshark said 2 months ago
stay positive, you got a nice set up.
LitoQ said 2 months ago
I feel like you should have the tees more on display then tucked into cubbies. I mean it looks tidy and organized but if you put em out there the booth would look a little less empty and the focus would be drawn more to the tees than that sweet shiny banner ;) right now that George Fox looks so lonely... just my 2 pennies. all in all nice set up tho bro!
godmachine said 2 months ago
hang more tees up- let people see those beauties bro.
hunty said 2 months ago
That my friend - is a fancy hat!
Looks like a good set-up. I like the cubbies, but agree that you should have more 'hanging' also.Congrats for getting out there and bloody doing it though...
Its awesome to see people setting stuff up and doing what they enjoy!
Ameeee said 2 months ago
Yeah Im really glad that youre putting yourself out there! You should sell some of your art too! Maybe next time...
You should wear one of your shirts as well!
AndrewOliv said 2 months ago
yeah man good job taking a risk! im sure things will pick up.. maybe hire some hot models to sit on your table haha.
and if anything just remember, you got a TOTD. :)
gaunty said 2 months ago
Truman325i said 2 months ago
Maybe if your banner didnt say Quakerninja. I doubt people who would buy a george fox tee would be interested in booth titles Quaker Ninja. That is my .02. And the shirt is straight expensive? But good luck.
quakerninja said 2 months ago
Im on my lunch break, before I head back out. Its day three of this thing, There was a parade this morning so foot traffic has really picked up. Thanks for the feedback. I have more shirts hanging. Droped the price to $10.00 set up a raffle drawing to win a kick ass 3x5 ft painting
Sales are picking up a bit, seeing a churchlady wear a button that says foxy bruin has put a smile on my face. Old people hate the name quakerninja, or they dont get it. The tweens love my free shit and the painting. and the college kids seem to be poor, or not out shoping, Im going to sell the design to the George Fox University book store, so thats good news.
I meet some local old time Town artist, and they tell me its not my stuff its just a shit town, so I got a few hook ups there. I may be doing a mural, at my old highschool, or the community center. Ok Ill be at the booth till (9pm tonight and then 8a-9p tomorow.
Im not to worryed about the sales I had a gut feeling it would be this way.
ok Im off again. Thanks for all the support. (hay purebuttons, pure gold, thanks again)
heavyprints said 2 months ago
You still look awesome dude. Its cool that youre getting to know some artists in your area too. Im looking for ways to mingle myself.
gaunty said 2 months ago
I was gonna say, areyouwearing the shirt? walking advertising!
quakerninja said 2 months ago
Im all done, havent crunched all the numbers yet, but I lost some money, oh well, It was a fun 4 days and I learned a ton. Next year Ill do some posters and stickers.
heavyprints said 2 months ago
Did you make a few sales though? Do you have any in a 2x? Cuz Ill purchase some newman goodness.
quakerninja said 2 months ago
sorry man biggest I have in a meager large, I guess you could put one on a scare crow in the garden of squash.
heavyprints said 2 months ago
Haha. We dont have a scarecrow. Just pie tins strung to the tomato cages. Its not particularly class, but it works.
quakerninja said 2 months ago
oh I saw a kid wearing a TWLOHA shirt and I told her I designed it, she was like wow cool dude. ha ha ha.
heavyprints said 2 months ago
Haha you rock.
quakerninja said 2 months ago
Just as I was getting ready to tear down for the night, I heard "newman is that you" It was my buddy zach I hadnt seen him in like 8 years, I was giveing a way a free painting for the raffle so I just let him have it, he was pretty stoked. And The booths on the sides of me kept me shaded so I managed to not get lobster bra lines. but I do have hat hair like a mother.
