wouldnt it be wiser to have the discount decrease over time? then theres less hesitation in buying the tee and people will jump on it rather than wait....

I think it works better if you set the discount at a lower number first. People that really want the item will buy it at any cost. Over time it will get harder to sell and you can increase the discount.
But if you say your going to raise the discount in the future people will just wait. So I think it would be better if you didnt tell people this fact. Or do what njonas said.
