I work in illustrator, here is what happened. I made the normal size save as jpg version I always do at the actual size because I dont want to make a new art board just for a preview.
This was too big, so I had to go back and make a new art board at a smaller size realign my art to the art board and save for web. Naturally it was not flattened sos it had ugly edges on it.
Or I could have just dropped it from illustrator to photoshop on the go media shirt and then in photoshop done the save for web deal. Or flattened it and dragged it back into illustrator where I can use multiple art boards to make the 1000's of tiny ass files all sites require to submit work.
BTW if you run a site that needs artwork, I hate having to make 3 files.
Combine the placement on a shirt and what the art looks like into one thing and then just have a shrunk up version of the same file for the thumb.
Back to feedback. After I have all my previews I would then have to put them on the web again, I used grabup before, or flickr. Snag the url and send that off to whoever needs to look at the mockup, or just attach the mocks in an email.
Shirt mockup.com dosent seem to speed any of this up for me. Or did I do it wrong?

Ideally if I could upload one image, push a button and see it on every shirt color that AA has in like a grid that would be incredible. Then just zip that off and say pick one Mr. client dude and get back to me.
Like all those help me choose post we see here.
This kind of does that, but the color picker is silly, and not going to help anyone needing real world colors for real world shirts.
Its a miss in my book, only because I know you guys can do so much better.
Ill be staying tuned for the pro version.
yeah its a great idea, but when i went to do a mock up, most of my .jpgs were too big to load up on it... suggesting to raise the cap on the file size and having the host shrink it would be WAY better, that way theres no fighting with photoshop at all about making sure the artwork is small enough to use on the mock site.
so here i am.
1. pull up site.
2.select artwork
3. discover the artwork is too big so i open photoshop
4.i shrink artwork
5.i save the new filesize
6. i reselect artwork
7. i then start messing with placement and color options.
or just using photoshop
1. i open photoshop
2. i open my shirt mock from tom (;
3. i open artwork
4. i shrink it and make it a layer on the mock
5. i mess with placement and colors
6. i put on my robe and wizard hat.
5 steps vs 7. not much but just less hassle and thats what all this is about anyways right?
i can see how this is a god send to peeps without photoshop or skills.
i did like quakers idea
"Ideally if I could upload one image, push a button and see it on every shirt color that AA has in like a grid that would be incredible. Then just zip that off and say pick one Mr. client dude and get back to me."
THAT would be amazing!
ill stick to shopping everything myself for now but im totally looking forward to 2.0 after you guys take all the feedback from the community!
sites really cool.. but I feel like if you dont know how to make a mockup then you shouldnt be mocking anything up in the first place.. &idk its defintly quick and easy but seems a bit useless, why leave the program if you dont have to?..

What kind of problem are you having?
When i clicked on the color picker and entered the color, i was not able to click submit or anything. The little color dropper was my mouse icon and would not let me click anything on the page.

Gotcha. You actually dont have to click the color picker icon to enter in a color in the text box - only when you want to use it to click on a color. Also, the color picker will only choose a color inside of the mock area, its disabled everywhere else. I can see how this can get messy though. I can add a fix so that if you choose the color picker icon and then try to manually enter in a color in the text box, it cancels the color picker. Do you think that would solve your problem?

I think that would work! The site is great, and is an awesome idea. That was the only "bug" i saw with it.
-To make this a better mock tool for shirt people, I would like to see a print area rectangle and all the shirt sizes so I can better match up something on a small and not have it look terrible on an extra large? Did that make sense? Its hard to explain how that works sometimes to people new to getting shirts printed up.
-Png support would be nice so that they are not all mocked up to look like all over prints.

I feel like its a good solution for people who dont really know how to mock up shirts. Maybe not as good for people who are more versed in it.
Either way its a nice tool.
drawsgood said 6 months ago
I just gave it a try, seemed to work pretty slick. I guess as long as you have a manageable jpg or gif, its perfect.

I think a huge feature would be combining it with how grabup/tiny grab works.
